He probably read how you're looking forward to getting a cat next.

    But regardless, [:D].

I am happy to report that Cleo is doing much, much better- she responded very well to the vet's treatments, and we have to give her a sedative if she gets too agitated, but otherwise she is fine. Last night at one point it look like we might have to put her to sleep, but she is not that close to death after all.

To get this thread back on topic, I have some crying/complaining to do:

    WEDDINGS!! BACHELOR PARTIES!! ARRRGG!

My buddy wants to go to AC for his bachelor party. As one of the groomsman, I need to abide. $300 a night for the hotel room. Three nights, hopefully all 10+ people show up only making it $30 a night, but still $90 is a good chunck of change just for a place to stay.

Then alcohol + food + gas + "entertainment" = MUCHO DINERO!!!

Then his wedding is in Philly. I live 3 hours away so I'm just getting a hotel. I need to go down Friday night for the dress rehearsal and then the wedding is on SUNDAY. So three nights at $139/night at the hotel is $417 + tax. Thankfully, I'm splitting it with one of the groomsman, but that's just insane.

    Tux rental, btw, $145.

    Gift = $100 in a card.

In the end, I don't want to know how much this is going to cost me...I really don't. I'm trying not to think about it.

After 12 days off, it's back to work tomorrow. Nice having off and though my trip to NY fell through, I did spend lots. What with my computer dying and auto repairs, I'm almost happy to be going back.

    Almost! :p

Now just to get to my 3 day weekend ahead. [face_mischief]

Somebody I was seeing a lot (as in I spent more than 3 days a week with him) just told me this morning that he can't see me anymore because he started dating somebody this weekend. I need a hug. :( :_|

You need to go for a Brazilian wax and perform oral sex more often.
It's the key to keeping a good man.

wtf is 'business casual' and why is my employer inflicting it on me?

Are jeans ok? If so, parameters? If only designer jeans are ok, I have only one pair of Versace and - although very nice - I wouldn't even wear them on a dress-down day, they're more evening wear for Islington or Soho bars. All my other jeans are, well, kinda scruffy.

I'm guessing a collared shirt is needed, but if I wear a shirt that I would normally wear with my suit along with trousers, it's just business dress without the jacket (I very seldom wear a tie at work). This leaves me with two shirts that, like the jeans, are only really suitable for an evening in an over-priced bar, two dress shirts, one charcoal grey brushed silk shirt that I'm now too old to wear even for a night out (it kinda screams 'stroke me, it'll feel good') and one linen shirt that's an absolute ******* to iron and - largely because it gets creased just by hanging in a wardrobe - is currently unironed.

I do have a couple of pairs of 'non-business' trousers, but one pair wouldn't really work with a collared shirt and the other pair are just not something I want to wear to the office.

Looking through all the clothing I own, this only leaves a dinner suit, which is right out.

Short of ironing the world's most unironable shirt and finding a pair of trousers by magic, I have nothing to wear except shoes.

I don't know if there's a pet stories thread, but I'm crying anyway so this one'll work.

My kitty cat is probably not going to make it through the night. :(

He had a pretty sudden onset of kidney disease, and today he stopped eating and drinking and just went into a corner and fell asleep. I've had him for about twelve years; he's been the best companion a person could want. Goodnight, Mickey.

And this is a really ****ty way to top off a really ****ty weekend.
    :_|

    Can't use those words, sorry.
