Just finished disc 2 in the Firefly series. I wish someone had told me it was this funny a long time ago!!

"Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "Jaynestown" were frakin' hilarious, especially!

On another note........Stargate SG1 is officially over noe, except for some possible dvd/tv movie(s). Anyone else see the last episode?!

    I've seen the last SG1, and I'm disappointed :(
The movies better be awesome... and I've heard talk of a possible season 11, it just won't be with SciFi...

I finally built my double-bladed green LED hilt. Here are pics, too, of the stainless steel-plated greaves I designed and fabricated. As usual, click on the pics for proper size and resolution. I also have a simple addition in mind for my greaves for the upper back of the calf, to give the impression that my boots are taller than they are: just a simple rectangle of (light-weight)leather connecting the two sides, underneath the straps.

And, finally finished is my custom hilt machined by Ryan at RandomSabers.com. I finally modded the hilt and installed all the electronics today (Thursday). I have not done a final polishing. Anyway, details are available on my site as well as more pics. Among the details are a 5w blue led, a li-ion battery pack and a built-in recharge port. Oh, and of course it has a removable blade!

I present BERKUT, more than a year in the making!

That was probably one of the coolest "character-driven" (as opposed to action driven) episodes I've seen. Ohh, and that whole final sequence, with the graphics and the music...beautiful.

Better not get too into the spoilers on these threads, Ian. Some people might have missed sunday and are waiting for wednesday. But in general, they could be, but I think they're more like something else that relates back to the original series. I'll explain it to you at the meeting if you come, or if you don't I'll send you a PM after wards.

Well, today was a pretty good day. After chatting with our Red5 operator for over an hour and a half and spending some money there, I picked up the new Complete Cross Sections book at Chapters, and then the CIV an hour later.

Being the starship nut that I am, I LOVE this book. It's nice to have all 4 previous volumes in 1 single book, in addition to 4 extra ships: A-Wing, B-Wing, Imperial (Lamda) Shuttle, and TIE Bomber. Oh yeah, the dust cover is a silver chrome!

"Belly Dance" is traditionally known as "Raqs Sharqi" (or "dance of the Orient"). It is a beautiful, spectacular dance which celebrates life, music, and femininity. Its origins are vague because they go so far back in Middle Eastern culture, but traditionally it was a dance done at family gatherings like weddings and parties.

The show will be really great, and appropriate for the entire family, so please, I urge you all to come. Tell me if you want me to get tickets for you and I can meet you to give them to you.

    Thanks everyone!

I have goosebumps. I'm somewhat at a loss for words.

I have always been intrigued by ancient Egpyt. The history, it's treasures, the Pharoh's, the pyramids.... it's one of my dreams to someday visit the country and experience the wonderful history there. Someday....

One of the partners of the firm and his wife were in Egypt last week, visiting a client. When I'd heard that they were going, I asked Kim if she would do me a favour. Since I wouldn't be making it to Egypt anytime soon, would she mind taking a small ziploc bag and bringing me back some sand, so at least I could experience a very tiny part of what I someday dreamed of? I didn't know if she'd be able to do it, but she promised to try.

Today, she's back at work. And she brought me a present. A small baggie of sand, from the base of the Great Pyramid. I'm in AWE. The colour is just what I pictured. And there are small bits of limestone and other debris mixed in the sand. I'm holding history in my hands. Who knows what this little piece of time holds? The limestone could be remmants of the Great Pyramid or the other pyramids in the area. It could be from the Sphinx, himself.

    I just can't believe what I'm holding in my hands....I'm so HAPPY!!!:D :D :D
