Well, Star Trek makes sense because some of the people come from Earth. Star Wars is way different.

Nothing beyond what they've already done. "Damn" is in the GFFA the equivalent of Scarface or Glengarry Glen Ross.

Out of all the really famous Lucasfilm productions the most egregious cursing probably remains:

Marion Ravenwood: Well, Jones, at least you haven't forgotten how to show a lady a good time.
    Indiana Jones: Boy, you're something!
Marion: Yeah? I'll tell you what; Until I get back my five thousand dollars, you're gonna get more than you bargained for. I'm your goddamn partner!

(Isn't this great? We get to CUSS and it's actually relevant! TAKE THAT, MANAGEMENT!!)

Damn and Hell are only curse words if you are living in some religious cult or a hundred years ago. The F word and the C word shouldnt be used but anything else and i doubt anyone would even notice.
The writing so far has been quite remarkable really because a **** would have been understandable concerning the destruction of Alderaan , Famously "***t" is used in Transformers the movie when the detonation of Moonbase 2 didnt damage unicron and was left in even though its a kids movie because that was a reasonable response to what was going on.

A person after my own heart. I sometimes get lazy and let an 's' word slip when I'm quoting someone or if I think it's the only way I can be 'pointed' amongst a certain audience but I certainly don't favour it. I actually morally object to anything stronger and certainly don't want to hear it or the 's' word in Star Wars. The obligatory swearing in modern adult films is the main reason I hardly ever go to the cinema these days.

Swearing is never reasonable in a kids movie and is only ever a 'choice' for adults. Although, as I say above, filmmakers now seem to feel obligated to use it.

Well they can always make and popularize their own. I have always been partial to Frak from BSG, its perfect so close to the F-Word that everyone knows what u mean but goes right by censoring.

That's a bad anachronism but not as bad as "Gunfight at the Blob Corral". You would think the EU writers would be professional enough to have better judgement.

The problem with that is that it inevitably ends up getting used in a sexual context and becomes just as potentially offensive as the word it's replacing. In other word's, it just ends up being dishonest at best.

Morally object? Please explain. I'm confused as to where the moral lines are as far as curse words go. You realize they are not all the same.

I think there will be some cursing. The Trek films (at least Into Darkness) had quite a bit..

Personally I would like little or no language

I think that you have roughly the same chances of The Doctor showing up in the Tardis to rescue our heroes from certain doom.

I think they should use the C word like a full stop

Why would you say that? I'm not saying I see JJ having a character drop a curse word in every scene, I just can totally imagine hearing one in the film.

This just reminded me that Wookiepedia even has a page for ducks.

Hmmm, maybe Luke will go on a hero journey to his mother's home planet of Naboo to discover the true meaning of ducks after Han's expletive.

    Thoughts?

The whole movie should relay conversations via interpretive dance.
