After the climactic scene in ROTJ when Vader throws Palpatine down the shaft, the last shot we see is of Luke holding a prone Vader in his arms. However, Lucas did not originally want to cut away from that scene directly to the Lando sequence, as he felt the switch was too jarring on the audience. Lucas had written a small exchange between father and son to segue to the action in the bowels of the DS II. I was lucky enough to obtain this deleted scene. Enjoy!

    Luke: Father, are you alright?

Vader: No, The Emperor was shooting lightning directly into my skull while I picked him up. Of course I could've protected myself better if I had a RIGHT HAND!!!

Luke: Hey, turnabout is fair play!

Vader: You were a whiny punk, I cut your hand off to teach you a lesson.

Luke: (thinks about it) Well, now we're even. Truce? (offers his right hand for a handshake)

Vader: Truce. (extends his stump) D'oh!!

    Luke: GOTCHA!!
