There's nothing cuter than kittens. They know how to steal hearts.

That's how we got Max. My mom and I were walking past his cage at the shelter and he stuck his paw out as if to say, "Come back here and adopt me."

 

Awwww, that's so sweet.

 

And a few years ago, when we lived in another town, my dad was coming home from playing cards with my aunt and uncle when he heard a tiny meow. Someone had left a tiny black and white kitten. He went over to check it out, and the kitten followed him back home, claiming us as his humans. We kept him for a few years and we named him Baxter.

His meows were more like squeaks, but since our second oldest cat (Corki) was the "Squeaker of the House," he had the title of "Assistant Squeaker of the House." I still have a picture of three of the four kitties we had, including Baxter.

 

Yeah, my cats tend to squeak more than meow too.
