ST D23 Expo 2017 - July 14-16 (Ep8 Info Likely)

Disney has revealed that the 2017 D23 Expo is July 14-16

This is one week before San Diego Comic Con.

They usually do the big Marvel/Star Wars stuff on the Saturday of D23, which would be July 15th.

With it in the middle of the summer, a trailer release is possible there.

 

Seems to be for me like a necessary trip from Germany to the USA (for the first time) next year.

 

I thought you wanted your first trip to the US to coincide with SW Land.

 

hmmm, sadly I have not unlimited vacation from my work, so only 1-2 long distance travels per year are possible. I think I will use these long distance travels only for Star Wars next year. So maybe SW convention + D23.

I think I have you all beat, I've only been in my state and one of the neighboring states in last 14 years.

Oh, the same applies to me. From Germany and I also only have been in my state and in Switzerland and Austria.

that's what happens when one is studying during the whole year for school and than spends the entire summer to work to pay for tuition/books/transportation/etc and when you spend money for fun it won't be on things like long distance traveling it will all be on close travel and cheaper things.

 

When is celebration?

 

Mid July

 

Star Wars TFA stopped filming November 4th, 2014. They had the first trailer ready in less than a month, and released it on November 28th, 2014. Ep VIII should stop filming around mid-June. Considering that Star Wars celebration in London AND D23 AND Comic-Con all take place in mid-July, about a month after they stop filming, I sense a great chance for a teaser around that time.

Edit: There's SW Celebration July 15-17, D23 July 14-16, and San Diego Comic Con July 21-24th.

 

We'll probably get a bunch of stuff for Rogue One. I still firmly believe we'll get a Rogue One trailer on May 4th though. It's May the 4th and also 2 days before the release of Civil War, which is rumoured to have a Rogue One trailer attached to it. I would still love to see at least something from VIII at one of the three conventions, they can't completely ignore it (I hope!!)

 

Rogue One is out this December, not 2017.

 

There is no way that we'll get an EPVIII trailer before Rogue 1 is released. The absolute earliest we'll see a teaser is attached to R1 itself.

 

Depends on the level of teasing they're going to do. A brief announcement teaser may hold over the summer nicely until Rogue One is released and we get another one then.

 

Should I feel bad now with all the countries I was in the last 6 years? Japan, Argentina, Brasil, Thailand, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sovenia, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greek Islands, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, France, England, Ireland, Belgium, Cyprus, Malta, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland.

 

Yeah, Wisconsin is far from Cali but it's DRIVABLE as in I hate flying.

 

I hope they will finally confirm SW Episodes X,XI and XII coming in 2021,2023 and 2025!!??

Figured as much with the Han Solo release date, how this was going to all play out.

 

Wasn't this the event in 2015 that they released the BTS reel for TFA?
