Dagobah Cave debate

    Luke being told that he didn't need his weapons but took them anyway shows that his dependancy was still on the mechanical, the physical, and not the Force.

    I always took it that all the cave was was a place where the force gatherd.

    Just like in people, the force can gather in places as well, sometimes to a much greater degree then others.

    I also think it was just a vision. But what vision he saw was influenced by his own fears, and belief that he would need his weapon.

    Yes, yes, and yes. Good discussion. Luke definitely took his fear with him to the cave and then saw what would happen to him if he lets that fear fester into something more (fear leads to anger...etc.).

    Yes I personally think the cave merely served a purpose for Luke's trial. I don't think there is LITERALLy evil in that particular cave. Yoda saying that all that is in the cave is "what you take with you" is the key.
