Amph [The Daily Show] Once Again With Jon Stewart (sometimes)

Never use those words together in a sentence.

 

Despite the sarcasm there, that's a sentiment to which I genuinely like.

 

Now it's really just one more, isn't it?
Daily Show, Nightly Show, Late Show.
And Last Week Tonight.

Jon Stewart's divided himself in four parts. We may come out with more than one whole Stewart just yet.

 

what is that, 9 1/2 hours a week of legacy?

 

If I remember my Banach-Tarski paradox right, one more part and we'll get two Stewarts.

 

Second episode was better than the first. His interview was also not as painful to watch--it was actually quite enjoyable imo.

Plus his coverage of how Americans help finance ISIS through black market purchases of their plundered artifacts delivered the sort of punch to the US gut that Stewart sometimes did.

 

Thanks Nightly Show for having two morons as guests up with Bill Nye.

 

I don't watch the Nightly Show. Is it part of the routine for the panelists to be irreverent, cracking jokes, or are they supposed to be at least semi-serious, like on Bill Maher's show?

 

I haven't watched in a while, but the panels were always insufferable. It did tend to be the "expert" guest being yelled over by "comedian" panelists trying to crack stupid jokes.

 

I like the Nightly Show and normally the panels don't bother me. But I have to say, the Mars panel was staggeringly bad. Poor Bill Nye. What a couple of insufferable morons. They deserve to have all technology they own that was invented because of the space program taken away from them forever.

Sadly, though, I do think it's somewhat representative. I don't know how many people I know who say, "Who cares about funding NASA when we've got problems here on earth?" As if spending a small amount of money on exploration is insane. Because exploring the earth never led to anything advantageous, right? So why would exploring and studying the universe do so?

 

In the Nightly Show, Mike Yard is funny.
In the Daily Show, Jordan Klepper is funny.
The hosts.. I'll give them time.

 

Only saw first 2 eps, still feels like the Daily Show which is good but with a fill-in host to me. Not a bad fill in host, just odd. I'm sure I'll be more on the trolley in the weeks leading up to the election.

Thread title needs an update, Trevor Noah leaving Daily Show

His whole tenure got about 2 pages of responses, neat!

 

Seven years and didn't manage to deliver anything particularly funny or insightful once.

 

I never watched his show religiously but in the bits that I did see, he was good and made his points across. Definitely better than Larry Wilmore. Wilmore just couldn't let Bill Cosby's story go, and that's pretty much what did him in.

 

Trevor Noah was trash. Good riddance.
