God dammit, I jinxed it. Sorry, everyone. Losing both him and Colbert within a year of each other is going to suck. At least The Daily Show won't end with his departure.

Can he be Colbert's sidekick/co-host/Andy Richter?

he should take over the Tonight Show from that untalented idiot who inherited the show from that other untalented idiot, then he and Colbert can feud for the next 20 years. Everybody wins.

The only acceptable replacement is Lewis Black.

It's time for the triumphant return of Craig Ferguson, the funniest man on tv who isn't Colbert or Stewart.

I like how a news anchor received a harsher punishment for some dumb anecdotes than police officers have for shooting unarmed men. But hey, we gotta protect the integrity of journalistic institutions that unabashedly cheerled the Iraq war in the first place.

Why would the police be punished? A man lied! Serious. A few black people got shot, so what. They'd otherwise just be shooting one another - you have to take into account black on black violence.

I'm starting the conspiracy theory that Stewart is taking over the NBC Nightly News desk.

I'll never forget the two weeks in 2009 where Stewart focused almost solely on CNBC and the networks advice to viewers pre-financial crisis and their later coverage of the crisis. The two weeks culminated in an interview with Jim Cramer, who had told his viewers to buy Bear Stearns weeks before it collapsed.

Probably my favorite two weeks of the show.

Wait, people can be given financial advice on television there?

Are your regulators like... babies or something? Actual babies?

    Yes.

We had Jim Cramer telling all his viewers to buy Bear Stearns and that Bear Stearns was in no danger six weeks before Bear Stearns collapsed. CNBC then said the Lehman Bros were fine...right before they filed for bankruptcy.

    I don't even.

Giving general and financial product advice should be regulated. It just... there's no reason it shouldn't.

His show would be better without the roundtable of guests. The format of the Daily Show suits him better. He has my vote.
