After seeing Solo I think Han warmed up so much to Rey in TFA because they were both orphans and scavengers. I also don't think Rey will go back to Jakku in IX because Han never goes back to Corellia and "It's like poetry, it rhymes".

 

It is something some fans speculated about back in the TFA days. Amazingly, not every parallel means blood relationship in the GFFA.

 

On dealing with Rey's continued heroine journey in Episode IX.

In the below link, this guy analyzed and guess Rey's Episode VIII arc, way back in January 2016. By looking at her overall hero's journey across the Sequel Trilogy (not just over one film like TFA and ultimately TLJ).



It really pans out what he guessed would happen in Episode VIII (TLJ).

So I think with the Road back, resurrection and reward will be Rey's finishing arc in Episode IX.

(Though I think Rey returning to the Resistance in the Falcon at the end of TLJ was her "Road back".)

Given that the last scene on board the falcon in TLJ reminds me of the last supper, I'm willing to bet she has a Da Vinci-esque red/blue Jesus of Nazereth vibe as far as the colours and style go. (I also suspect that she's going to die and resurrect).

 

The imagery and symbolism in TLJ suggest that Luke is Space Jesus.

I'd agree if it wasn't for that falcon scene. I think they've got big resurrection plans for her.

She was “reborn” in that she emerged from the desert like Luke and Anakin, but that’s it from what I can see. Though ofc I may have missed something - maybe Kylo “the Devil” will tempt her thrice - first with Knowledge, then with Power, then with...we’ll see?

 

Maybe. It's purely a hunch tbh (bare in mind I had a similar feeling that the flying blue guy in TPM who I said would be a Jedi Knight turned out to be Watto!)

 

So the real question is in Episode IX is Daisy Ridley FINALLY going to get 1st billing in her own trilogy? Or at most is she getting 2nd billing right behind Adam Driver. (She's been billed 5th in Force Awakens and 4th in Last Jedi)

 

If Luke is confirmed as a force ghost rather than a surprise, then Mark Hamill is still going to first billing followed by Driver. And Daisy as third billing.

 

Via a virgin birth, preferably. And a background of bondage, perhaps.

 

C-3PO is helping Rey read the Jedi Text in the new Poe comic, and R2 told BB-8 she was really something, and something was going to happen.

 

Yah I get the feeling Hamill will not be in the promotion or announced but he's definitely going to be in the movie so, probably like Frank Oz in Last Jedi, he'll get a title credit not on the poster. And probably 1st billing. So I think you're right, it'll be Hamill, Driver and Daisy. Or if they somehow work Fisher in there, she'd be back to 4th again like in Last Jedi.

 

My bet is Hamill will be credit as a cameo role. Therefore it will be Adam, Daisy... and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
