Are they coming off the Falcon, though? Looks to me like they're entering the cockpit.

Just noticed that in the new EW magazine and the interview with Oscar, John and Daisy at Star Wars Celebration Daisy always seems to be placed in the middle with John and Oscar on either side of her.

What I meant was that Finn was listed as Finn and Poe was listed as Poe but Rey was listed as Kira. Don`t Finn and Poe have code names?

Duh it's because she's a chick and they are dudes. How is that puzzling? Them as people and friends sure plays in more than their roles in the films. Maybe she's just better friends with both of them than they are with each other.

Well, she is the girl and the other are guys. Seems like the natural choice IMO. She has clear dress and John and Oscar have darker clothes as well.

It could be that the Poe and Finn characters only really came out of the latest rewrite. It seems that they have been distilled from four of five lesser (secondary) roles where as the characters of Rey (SNOW GIRL/KIRA) and ROSE have been in since the days of Arndt.

On page five of the magazine (the index/content page) it was just her and Boyega alone. Also interesting is how the writer of the article stated that in the dinner gather of the actors, JJ, KK and high ranking members of Disney and LucasFilms, Boyega was at the end of one side of the table and Ridley was seated at the opposite end. So I suppose that time it was Isaac who was somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, I should have been more exact.

My thinking is, instead of coming off the Falcon like on Cloud City, they land at the Resistance (Rebel) base -- either the one that's rumored to be on Yavin IV, or the one at the Greenham Common set where the full-scale section of the Falcon was spotted -- and when they land they're immediately stopped by Resistance guards before they get a chance to unboard.

Then some Resistance guards come on board, and that's why Han and Chewy have they're blasters ready (in a "nothing will probably happen, but just in case" kind of way; just like in Empire). And then Leia appears and they start arguing and then we get the "Chewy, we're home" at some point in the exchange, and so on and so forth...

Something like that at least...

And since they're standing up, I wonder if someone else had flown the Falcon. I'm jut not into the theory that they're saying they're home because they're on the Falcon. Otherwise, no weapons would've been drawn, in my opinion.

And Leia says, "Han, where have you been??!!??"

Those lights on the wall on the left are just outside the cockpit. They're looking into the cockpit in the trailer shot if that helps.:)

Maybe the Falcon gets sucked up into that big ship and they board, suspicious with weapons out, can't find who flew it... Rey and Finn are hiding in the smuggler's compartments

I don't think that Han would say, "Chewie, we're home" at that point, though.

He would if they board thinking it was just any freighter of the same make and model, and then sees... something, the dice in the cockpit, and realize it isn't just any YT-1300...

I still think this Han and Chewie clip, or at least the line that was said very likely could have been filmed strictly for the teaser trailer as a re-introduction to Han after all these years, and that this little bit won't feature in the film at all.

I think it'll be in the film, but they won't have their guns drawn in the film version.

    Yeah, there is that...

If that is the case though, and they haven't seen the Falcon in a long time, then we're back to what happened; who's had it; and how long has it been gone. And I guess MSW will be making a revision. Because at no point do they give any indication that Han hasn't had the Falcon in a long time. And they give every indication that it was just recently stolen by Rey and Finn to get away from the Stormtroopers (and TIE Fighter).

    This is a tough one.

That's possible. Because Luke's "My father has it. I have it. My sister has it" isn't going to be in the movie, at least I don't think it will be. That was just done for the teaser. And the "There has been an awakening" and "the darkside" and "the light" parts in the first teaser was no doubt done just for the teaser. Granted, these are just voiceovers and that's an actual scene, but it's possible.

Because you really have to stretch to place it anywhere in the film given the rumored information that we have. Of course, there's obviously a lot that we still don't know either, so.

EDIT: And I guess Rebel Force Radio's new podcast is up where they talk about the second teaser, so we can give that a listen and see if they have anything new.

I hope Rey has a double-bladed saber by the end of this trilogy if she's a Jedi. It fits with the staff and all.

Simplest answer she is Luke's daughter; Or possibly Han left when Rey was a newborn and wouldn't recognize her anyway. Also Rose concealing Rey's identity may be because Rey has heard stories of the Jedi and at that particular time they don't match with her desires (i.e her not wanting the lightsaber in the first place)

I know we`re going in circles, but Rey impressing Han by fixing the Falcon really implies that he isn`t aware of her mechanics skills/has never seen her before. I imagine the scene being something along the lines of: "Hey, who are you? Get out of my ship!" *Rey fixes Falcon* "Allright, you can stay."

Or she is one of the last younglings at the Academy, Rose & Luke agree she needs to be escorted of the planet; Rey is escorted off by Rose thanks to Luke's (in flashback) the First Order's Uber/apprentice. Luke gets ahold of Han and Leia tells them where she is (if she is a Solo) and tells them he will watch over her.

Actually, no, the simplest answer is that she was born on Jakku, orphaned, and now lives alone as a scavenger, and the adventure begins when she and Finn cross paths.

Speculating that she may be a Skywalker or a Solo may be more fun, but the above is the simplest.

And quickly on the Han "Chewy, we're home" scene possibly being just for the teaser and not in the film: during the recent Rebel Force Radio podcast (at about the 1:26 mark) Jason Swank makes that same speculation, and Jimmy Mac follows by saying that he asked Alan Dean Foster if that line will be in the novelization at the novel panel at Celebration. He said that he was mum and didn't want to answer. So there may be something there.

Anyway, back to Rey... the Jakku-born, Force-sensitive, scavenger orphan, with no relationship to a Solo or Skywalker.

May be the simplest but certainly the least satisfying from a story and saga standpoint.

Definitely. Some say that "female nobody becomes savior" makes a better character than "daughter of two legendary figures that also is a badass force-user", as it better fits the trend of movie- heroine role models, but I would very much prefer a legacy character.

You don't think her being a Solo or Skywalker her legacy wouldn't be interesting to watch develop??
