Just been thinking with the trailer and poster probably just around the corner and the media ramp up towards the film.I think were going to get some fairly flat interviews from someone.We are probably going to get a lot of sound bites and links posted on here.Especially from folks who really dislike Rey, I mean they're hibernating right here at the moment anyway, Perhaps we should have a be prepared kit, so not give them the satisfaction because they are going to bait. They are already doing it in other threads. So maybe hitting the ignore button could be helpful or perhaps switching to pm's maybe a good idea. All in all am sure we don't want one or two people taking away the fun from people so am all for the 'pleasant' and not for the nasty. Am sure if posters want to add anything to this it would be fine. Heck this post might ignore this post altogether lol.
However, all am doing is just creating ideas and trying to keep this thread as friendly as possible.

As for the new year and Daisy working or not. Am not sure which project she would take on. I thought her next independent project would be Kolma but I think the director of that one maybe a bit busy at the moment, am not sure which project would fit next.

 

I don't believe anyone dislikes Rey? She is the favorite character of so many kids now.

 

I work with someone who absolutely hated TFA primarily because of Rey. The thing he hated the most about her? Her accent... and he's English btw.

Daisy and John were the two best things about TFA for me.

I don't know anyone personally who flat-out dislikes Rey overall. I know some people who take issue with how she was written in some ways. "They made her too good/powerful right off of the bat" or "they completely undercut Kylo as a credible villain by having her beat him so quickly" and stuff like that. And some of them are annoyed that she's mostly a question mark as a character right now (and that ties into the other thing in a "well there'd better be a good explanation for how she's so powerful so quickly" kind of way for some of them.

However, most of them will also say "but she's personally very likeable/charming."

 

Yeah, its a weird one. There are some who find Rey an enigma the character can be confusing however there are haters about. Some want Rey completely erased from the story. You can see that from a few pages back. Then you have latent baiters who cripple the parentage thread with there toxicity who on occasions try it on in this thread. I really hope we can prevent that nastiness appearing on here and posting sickly links. Brrr it sends shivers down my spine thinking about it. I hope we don't have a vergence between here and the parentage thread. That would be hideous.

 

Out of curiosity, why do you think that's likely to happen soon? And who is the person you refer to as likely to give "fairly flat" interviews? And why will that bring out the Rey haters? Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention to this thread, or maybe I'm naive as I think Rey is great, but I don't see this simmering Rey assault some others do. Did I miss something big that happened here? Honest questions. I want to know!

 

Well the interview thing is old ground now. Am not up for bringing that up. Then there are the stirrers who just plainly want to cause imbalance to the thread. Sly little kickss at the character then to the posters. They seem to think it's funny to aggravate. It's not and it does come across as unpleasant.

 

Well even on these very boards there are people who seem to want Kylo to end up being the main character. or for it to be Luke and/or Leia, and Rey to just be a prop in their stories/arcs.

I do wonder if part of this is that, compared to Luke in ANH and Anakin in TPM, she is more of a cypher of a character. And since we know so little about her, people turn to other characters that we seemingly do know more about?

 

I'd rather Kylo becomes the main villain!

I'm hoping they don't mess up Rey after making her that much of a mystery!

That scene where Kylo locks sabers with her and when he tries to coax her to become his apprentice she pulls what I like to call a "Kanan" after a similar scene at the end of season one of Star Wars Rebels when confronting the Grand Inquisitor!

I know he's supposed to be dead but I still think Snoke is the Grand Inquisitor as it fits what's been said about Snoke gives an alarming source for that black kyber ring and until Star Wars Rebels is resolved who knows?!

 

I'm looking forward to when she does a project set in the modern day.

I have nothing against all the roles she has lined up now, it's just that they're all either in outer space or period pieces.

 

the parentage thread is pretty fun to read actually I already see it as a humour... it's funny that people are so obsessed with a fictional character written by someone... well understandably its star wars. Anyway, I don't think we should concern much about haters, haters gonna hate anyway, but for people who just don't like the character and want to discuss the reasons or expectations is fine for me as long as they are not a troll or being rude, it's just an opinion and the threads are open for discussion at the end, whether you love them or hate them. I love Rey and intrigued that we get her as a lead, but personally, I also have some problems the way she is written in TFA as well. For people who just gonna bait or post something just to insult the character, it's annoying.... I don't really see such post so far, and hopefully, will not see.

 

yo!!! she would be stellar in comedy (good comedy) .... I listen to the podcast she was in " my dad writes a porno" she was so funny in it man.....

 

I'd like to see her play a villain (not in SW though) myself.

 

Oh I can't wait for the parentage thread to be locked but to be fair its not the worst thread on here, that belongs to another. Oh I'd love to see Daisy in a modern drama but am not sure what in though. I'd hate to be fifteen years in the future seeing her in Eastenders Although I'd love to see her in a muscial / stage. I'd travel down to the West End to see her. Heck if any of us in here are from the UK I'd take you with me - I get lonely you see
