Some really sad news with everyone complaining that the speeds of over 225 mph were way too fast for this race.

    RIP, Dan Wheldon. @};-

It wasn't so much the speeds as much as it was they shouldn't have been racing on a NASCAR track with such high banking turns - lower banks means lower speeds in the turns. They haven't raced there for years and hopefully they'll never race there again.

    RIP, Dan.

Frightening. From what I read, there also too many cars in the race. Watching video, it definitely seems incredibly crowded for speeds that high. One of the videos on youtube shows the cockpit camera of Will Power, looks like he was incredibly fortunate, at the end it appears loose tire smashes into his car.

Very disheartening news. He was a very important part of Indy racing, and better than that, he was a good man with a big heart. He loved his mum a lot, and he left behind a wife and two children, that are going to miss him a lot. I hate when tragedies like this happen, especially when they could have been avoided.

R.I.P. Dan, I hope you find peace in your golden slumber. @};-
