Well alot of people hated Craig for about a year which was harsh and out of order because now hes proved himself. Clive Owen however was a favourite by most of the Bond fans because this guy can act like Bond and hes won some good awards including a BAFTA and a Golden Globe, he will always be the Bond that got away because he stayed loyal to his contract but "Never Say Never" :)

    go for daniel craig, indeed!:)

though the poker scene was the one fault I had with it. the time line of it was a mess. like theres a bit where hte guy goes "We've been playing for 4 hours (i think) now well have a short break."

then bond got in that fight on the stairs and then they fell asleep and woke up the next day to continue. honestly i thoguht it was all over the place.

Yeah but no-one knows what Bond acts like, he's not defined yet! Plus I think Clive Owen is too well known to give any deep comitment to the franchise with his other films.

James Bond is not a certain height or has a certain voice, I think we all know that now. So Clive owen wouldn't fit as he looks just too...Hollywood, too much like a big movie player and yeah, his voice lack emotion and that cutting edge the others, like DC, have.

Lacks emotion....Hes got a licence to kill!!!hes not going to be William Shatner or happy and daisy but what he would be is a perfect Bond, anywho a person who things Connery is average and not that good cant see who Bond is anyway so no wonder you cant see why Owen would be a great Bondo_O

No he's good...better than Lazenby and in some movies better than Moore, but I don't like giving him the 'Bond King' title, almost like people saying Brosnan was the best, and almost hogging the role.

    Yeah, poor Laz.

His attitude to Bond stunk, to me he always seemed as if he was playing it for a jest.

Can you imagine how he would have taken on the films like Diamonds Are Forever, and Live And Let Die? Verrry intersting!

i dont understand all this Brosnan hating. I thought he was a fantastic role ( i think Christopher Lee said that Brosnan was the closest to Flemming's Bond... hence Brosnan was his personal fav). I thought Peirce was fantastic. that is all ..

okay maybe not so much it DAD but that wasn't his fault :p

Well he was the first Bond I saw at the cinema so he stuck with me, but I was getting a bit iffy with The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, because I started to lose confidence in the fact that I didn't think he could give anything more to the role, and the films themselves were getting too wrapped up in fantasy and losing the Bond touch.

I'm glad Casino Royale has taken things back a peg and given a new kick, which I appreciate a lot from EON and with DCs performance. And I think after many were dissapointed with DAD and the resulting look of Bond and the series, Casino Royale answered all our prayers and gave us a warm, fuzzy feeling about Bond being back in the game, big style!

Dalton was the first Bond I ever saw, with Licence To Kill on video from my Grand-dad! So maybe in my mind that image and style of Bond is the one I've always been looking for!

I never was disgurntles with Pierce's acting in any of the films that he did, it was only Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day that I hated as films (yes, I liked the World Is Not Enough).

My two faves with Broz would be GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies, I just felt after that he started to lose that 'Bond' touch and was wafting into 'Action Star' territory, rather than 'James Bond'.

I wonder how Dalton would have done with GoldenEye, say if that was done in 1991.

Funny when you think how Bond could have been sometimes!

How can a film with Robbie Coltrane, Robert Carlyle and Denise Richards as the Bond girl be bad?

And I don't think I've seen all of Goldeneye yet. Must get around to it.

Tomorrow Never Dies is a 15 too in the UE DVDs!

Go get them in Buy One Get One Free, save a bag of money! For 2-discs and swanky covers? BARGAIN BOND-AGE!

And Robert Caryle is semi-ok as a villain but a bit of a weed in the end, Robbie Coltrane is a cracker...but Denise Richards as a Nuclear Scientist? Oh pulease!! Give me Vesper Lynd anyday!

Thy should have at least cast some good actress who could give a Nuclear Scientist some level, and not just a full chest! ;)

GoldenEye is good Mustafar, especially Sean Bean in it.

I liked Brosnan as Bond too, but sadly the rather boring TWINE and the just plain dire DAD meant the role had been tarnished for him (not his fault mind) and is there any truth in the rumours that he began demanding huge fees??

Clive Owen was a fans favourite, but a lot of these (so called) fans also thought Craig would be terrible so perhaps shows that they don't really know a lot when it comes to actors and casting :p
If Owen got it then I wouldn't have complained too much but I was glad he didn't.

The single "You Know My Name" is due for release on the 11th of December btw. I'm surpirsed the soundtrack doesn't even havew it on though. I would have been tempted to get it if it had. The Bond DVDs are selling quite well at the mo too, and Virgin have just bought the last 2000 suitcase sets in the country!! Little fact for you there, fact fans :D

    Thank you Fact Master! :D

Must have cost Virgin a bit for those cases!

And yeah, Brosnan was asking for more money than sense, and EON didn't want to shell out more money without getting something good back, and I agree that Brosnan wasn't going to be offering anything new to warrent more money.

And I have my 'You Know My Name' single ready for dispatch (nearly) from Amazon, saves looping it on My Space!
