I really enjoy Danny Elfman's scores and this is the one I enjoy
most of all. I happened to rent the DVD recently and was amazed
to discover that Elfman recorded a commentary track for the entire
film! I had not previously heard a composer comment on his work
throughout an entire film and it was a real treat. He had plenty
to say about the project, his collaborations with Tim Burton, and
the challenge of establishing tempo for each cue.

Has anyone else listened to this commentary?

I have the DVD, but I have yet to listen to the commentary track. I love the score, though, so maybe I should check it out soon.

Wow. I really need to rent that-- Edward Scissorhands is one of my favorites (and one of the few that I actually own).

I haven't heard the commentary, but I have seen a few other DVDs with that as an option. Elliot Goldenthal on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Don Davis on The Matrix are just two I can remember.

As for Edward Scissorhands, I think there's also an isolated score track if I'm not mistaken. I'm not a huge fan of the film, but the score is beautiful.

I have the 10th anniversery edition,I`ll have to check if it`s on this.

I think Scissorhands is Elfman's most memorable score

    Most. Beautiful. Score. Ever!

The DVD commentary is pretty interesting. Elfman is more articulate than Burton.

I think the use of the choir is a big part of
    what makes the score distinctive.

Elfman also did a commentary for his score of "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", his
first feature film ever, also with Tim Burton.

I'm not a fan of most of Elfman's scores, but, to me, "Edward Scissorhands" is his masterpiece.

I love the movie since I was little.
Evan before I knew exactly who Elfman was, I already liked him..
    This score is sooooooo beautiful!!
Definitly one of my Elfman's favourites.
