    Maybe I'm not seeing something that rules it out, but the droid did say "replacements." To me that leaves open the possibility that Ventress and Vos could decide to work for Palpatine down the road (or maybe are even forced to work for him). I'm not saying it's likely, but at least some things line up.

    Its not going to be Vos and Ventress. Their story still needs to be told, and it needs to start fresh. The book is too far out.

    A change in hair style, whether drastic or not can often signify a difference in the individual as well. It could be a shift in attitude or simply a new outlook on life.

    I don't like the hair, but I have reconciled myself to it as long as her reasoning is "I felt like growing it out," "the top of my head got too cold when we were on Hoth," or "because **** all of you, that's why."

    My hopes for the book:

    1) It changes as little as possible from the original scripts, unlike SOD, which cut out lots of material
    2) The names of the original episodes are included, like in SOD
    3) Clear markers that show where each end of episode would have come.

    I'd like to have a full accounting of everything cut from SOD and DD. Since the episodic scripts are considered having happened, does that mean if Dark Horse cut something from SOD, it still happened? Its confusing canonical ground. That's why translating cartoon episode scripts into comics and novels is both a blessing and a curse. We are happy to have the content, but a great many things can be lost in translation...

    I think the thing with the scripts is that they're canon, unless they get adapted by some other media. So chances are not much was cut from Utapau or the Bad Batch, while stuff was probably shuffled for SOD and Dark Disciple.

    Looks like Ventress survives Dark Disciple:

    "Dave had an Asajj-Ahsoka teamup. Katie Lucas wanted to give Asajj punk hair"

    I'm guessing the teamup would be after Dark Disciple as early animation had already been done for the 8 episode Dark Disciple arc. I don't think any work had been done on the Asajj-Ahsoka story.
