    Hi Everyone!

Please feel free to let me know if this is a redundant topic or should be posted elsewhere. [face_blush]

I'm relatively new to EU and I had a question. What is a Dark Jedi and how do they differ from the Sith? ?[face_plain]

Sith are members of the Sith religion. They have their own agenda and mandate.

Dark Jedi, however, belong to no order or religion. They are merely people with Force powers who choose to use these abilities for their own gains. They use whatever powers are easier to command--and the dark side is easier than the light.

    That's the basics of it.

Jedi are at one extreme, Dark Jedi are somewhere near the middle, and Sith are the other extreme. :)

Sith and Dark Jedi use the same areas of the Force however Sith have been trained almost from birth in the use of the Darkside, whereas the Dark Jedi have been trained in the Lightside initially and have moved over to the Darkside so are not as acomplished in the finer points.

That is not necessarily true, a Dark Jedi does not have to start off from the Lightside. If a Sith were to stop believing in the ancient traditions of the Sith he would still be considered a Dark Jedi.

    • SITH - A Sith is an evil Force-User. Sith use only Neutral and Dark Side abilities. They abide by the Code of the Sith. Only two can exist at a time: A Master and an Apprentice. EXAMPLES: Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, and Darth Vader.

    • DARK JEDI - A Dark Jedi is a Jedi who uses the Force (Light, Neutral, Dark) for bad things. They do NOT abide by The Code of the Sith. There can be any number of Dark Jedi at any time. EXAMPLES: Komari Vosa, Asajj Ventress, Sev'Rance Tann, Jerec Desaan, and Tavion.

And there you have it! :)

In the current era, Dark Jedi don't abide by the Code of the Sith. During the Old Republic, however, many Dark Jedi were allied with the Sith, simply because they saw it as an avenue to power.

simple. watch the clone wars episode in which Assaj Ventress fights Dooku. First he knocks her out with a blast of force lighting. Then defeats her in lightsabre combat, which she has two sabres against Dooku's one. That alone can show that besides both being dark siders, Sith are far more powerful.
