I'm an OC writer born and bred, but I was suddenly inspired to write this verse. Hope you all enjoy.

Dark Misery (A poem focusing on Vader)

A blackened priest, the hand of doom
For the one who slowly rots
His wreckage masked by iron and hate
Crushing and deadly to all his path
The rattling, mechanical, it escapes him still
    Scorched beyond repair it seems
Now a Master, the darkness has called him
But also a slave, more so than in youth
?The soul of the Chosen, now rancid with loathing
As he wanders a vile tomb
Locked in dark misery, he curses
    Remembering those beloved and dead?
Seething and alone is he, and more death is rendered
This in the name of the Autocrat?s Order
For the dark shroud obscures all like a cowl
The faith he remembers as more than a tool
Should the faithless mock, his fist closes in
A sinister agent to be feared, the cold heart of a Sith
Redemption only thought of in melancholy dreams

This was my favorite line, and I think it's true too. Anakin does become a slave to the darkside. Very powerful, deep poem.

What a wonderful poem! Really conjures up what Vader becomes and the suffering surrounding him.

Redemption only thought of in melancholy dreams Great ending!

Wow! That was powerful and a little spooky. Very grim and fitting for Vader.

I like that line. I imagine Vader was pretty hopeless and depressed. Maybe also filled with self loathing. Good job. :)

Oooh, I liked this. I hardly ever read poetry but I'm glad I'm decided to peek in here. Great job. :)

(And writing about a canon character wasn't too bad, huh? :p)

    Thanks, HHP. :)

Well writing about one in a poem is slightly different, and of course it had to be an ode to Vader since he's my favorite.

Maybe at some point I'll write poem about Palpatine (that'd be fun) or Mara or Boba Fett, and I have a title stuck in my head, A Durge for Alderaan , so we'll see what happens there.

Haven't checked this for a few days.

Thanks for reading, Spike. :) I'm glad I got the interest of a few non-poerty readers.
