Obi-Wan
Amongst the Jedi, brave and true,
One heroic legend grew,
So modest yet so legendary,
Courageous Obi-Wan Kenobi.

A warrior preferring not to fight,
A skilled pilot reluctant in flight,
Patient, wise and seldom wrong,
Loyal Jedi, Obi-Wan.

On Mustafar he had to leave,
His best friend, though it made him grieve,
For like a brother, like a son,
Was Anakin to Obi-Wan.

Fur of lightless midnight

Invisible, a nightmare
With ivory teeth and claws
By the time you know he's watching
Look around- the blood's all yours.

Alderaan Lament
A new moon
Broke our sky
Made us say
Our last goodbye
Within the reach
Of an Imperial arm
We were cut down
Though we knew no harm
We only dreamed
Of a peaceful time
Did that make us Rebels?
Was that our crime?
Our home, our hopes, our children
Hang in space as dust
We are the dead of Alderaan
Remember us.

the others are... especially the alderaan one. that one speaks volumes of your ability to write poetry. the sheer depth in it is comparable to many of seen published, and i like it much better.

Ok, here's a spoof poem, written in the style of a folk-song, due to the alien-disliking tendencies of a certain Imperial, and a very odd NSO conversation.

The Alien Adventures of GrandAdmiralJello
'Twas all in the month of May
An Imperial, proud and true
Happened across a determined Falleen
And didn't know what to do

Those not of the human race
Were his especial hate
He fought them off, but this Falleen
Had in mind a different fate

She was pretty, she was clever
Her pheromones were strong
She thought that shaming poor Jello
Wouldn't take her very long

Falling for an alien
Might make him a laughing-stock
But surely in order to resist
He'd need a heart of rock

To save himself a lot of shame
That Imperial he might stay
Fleeing from this Falleen girl
Poor Jello ran away

He couldn't run quite fast enough
For fleet of foot was she
She cornered the Grand Admiral
His fear anyone could see

Lucky, lucky Jello
His embarassment was spared
When her Modship NaboosPrincess
Came to check on how he fared

A bansaber is a mighty thing
And the ambitious Falleen
Turned away all terrified
And promptly fled the scene.

 

Bravo Rilwen, bravo.

Manipulator
Lord of Empire and the Force
Undying Shadow.

Lord Over Many
They named him once the Hero With No Fear
Until a day of bright and scalding fire
When the Jedi he was would disappear
To leave Darth Vader, son of the Empire.

True scourge and bane of the fleeing Jedi
Menacing figure all in black midnight
Fear-filled face, whispers and averted eye
Would greet the travels of the foe of light.

Military might, shining scarlet blade
Courageous one of Imperial time
Ruthless warrior, and never afraid
All skills trained to peaks perfect and sublime.

Dark Sith apprentice of the Emperor
Lord over many, bringing true terror.



And...one of my own, another Ani/Vader one. What can I say? I like Ani/Vader poems.

In my dreams
I see faces
So many faces

In my dreams
I've watched her die
Powerless to help

In my dreams
They mock and mistrust me
Deny me true status

Great place!

*is now at peace with her two literary subjects for her oral teacher exams in German: Romantic German poems and poets plus writting Haikus with elementary-school children!*

The poems in here awoke my positive feelings about lyrics one more!

*was a bit fed up with historical facts and figures plus didactic and methodical facts1*

Hum, but I think it is a bit risky to write SW poems with school kiddies... I rather read the brilliant works in here! Thank you! All of you!

The Way of the Sith
Burning eyes, a fighter
Deals out deadly fate
Merciless, implacable
The way of the Sith is hate.

Vengeful blade, the hunter
Watches others cower
Permitting no obstacle
The way of the Sith is power.

Mysterious, the wanderer
Using the Dark Side
Mastering the Force
The way of the Sith is pride.

Bleak, blank eyes, a warrior
All enemies must beware
Walks alone in shadows
The way of the Sith is despair.

Rage-filled one, destroyer
Dared from the light to fall
Ever cunning, dark of heart
The way of the Sith is all.

 

Very good! It is exactly expressive of a Sith.

 

I haven't been in here in a long time, so I had plenty of reading to do.

I liked the one about Trimaj a lot, I never knew he was a furry little Defel.

The one about Alderaan was really good as well, and "The Way of the Sith" one was really cool as as well.

Of course the one about Jello was the best, I was laughing from start to finish.

Reading your thread is always worth the time, thanks for the updates Ril.

Standing sentry within the Force

Enigmatic in his goals
Beyond clear or simple sight.

Leader of an Order
With ideals that do not fade
Kage of the Templars
The Grey one they call Dade.
