I'm all for it. It looks and sounds cool and it would be a chance to explore the history of the Jedi and the Sith.

I would hate it. It's very "Un-StarWars" to me.

Never been a fan of the Darksaber. Too fan-boyish.

Never heard of it it before. Is it like a lightsaber that's not been switched on ?

Uh, which? The cheap non-jedi sword mimic of a lightsaber?

Or the EU superweapon knock off of the Death Star (aka just its superlaser slapped to a hyperdrive engine and a bridge)?

If this we need to move this to the EU thread...

Actually come to think of it... in either case no, I wouldn't like in VII-IX. The sword would seem better suited to spin-offs or animated tv stuff (though I'd prefer the Vibroblades the EU used before darksabers, since they where far more evil and mercanary like which suites bounty hunters and scum great)... the EU superweapon hopefully never again will it be seen.

In that case, I'm more open to the idea but still no. Id rather them be worked into a bounty hunter movie than the episodes or kept in the animated tv show verse. We got force pikes and electrostaffs in the movies, which visually don't look as mimicy of a lightsaber and worked decently verse a lightsaber too. I felt the darksaber was almost a lightsaber in everyway minus the deflecting blaster bolts which killed a bit of the magic and uniqueness of the lightsaber. Its effects are kinda cheesy too. I would hope a movie could come up with a more original idea than a darksaber

So if its to be used in a movie Id prefer it be a surprise reveal weapon of a bounty hunter as he tries to take down a lightsaber weilding opponent in a film where the bounty hunter is the protagonist, that way fans will love how bad*** that bounty hunter is. Though again I'd prefer something more original over a darksaber. It didn't bug me too much in the lawless arc on The Clone Wars but it did feel out of place, I got past it since it was a kids show and the writing that arc was so insanely good but still I'd prefer to not see it in a movie and especially not in an episode movie.

Since it's been used in TCW, I guess I'd be ok with it, but I suppose my preference would be to just leave it in that medium and keep it out of the movies.

    Yes. It's ******* awesome.

It's canon, too. Thank you, TCW.
