How come Threepio didn't speak Jawa to the Jawas? Choosing to address them in the Queen's English instead of their native tongue?

Surely the Six Million Dialect Man could have reeled off some Jawaisms, in the interests of bonding with his captors?

For that matter, why didn't he break into Bocce, to demonstrate his linguistic prowess to the Lars'?

Where's his salesmanship, his guile? Why does he blame everyone but himself for his failure to get ahead?

 

As a master of Jawanese, 3PO knows that addressing a Jawa first is not the proper "etiquette and protocol".

 

Also, i believe 3P0 by this time figured out that Artoo is a spy droid and didnt want to devulge to much to him.

Jawas employ a trade language that is diffecult for even droids to understand.

 

He "despises" Jawas, since they are "fithy creatures".

He speaks english only as a form of protocol droid protest.
