Lit Darth Maul Dark lord of the Sith post Endor?

Mecha-Spider-Maul and the name Sheev were Lucas' Wrath of Khan "from Hell's heart, I spit at thee" moments. They were the last crappy, awful things he did to Star Wars before handing the franchise over to more responsible custodians.

 

What's wrong with Sheev? I pronounce like Shiv.

 

We know there is some siege of Mandalore post season 6 of TCW but pre RoTS. It was referenced in Rebels. Since Maul is still connected to that place, perhaps we was killed in a duel. He really should did for good before episode 3.

 

We're visiting Mandalore in this season of Rebels.

I'd love for either Vader or Kenobi to take Maul out once and for all. Either fight would be epic to behold.

 

My money is on Vader killing Maul for the ratings factor, regardless of the fact it was cool in Legends.

I want to see flippy prequel dancing get trounced by tank Vader.

 

Flippy dancing should never be treated as anything other than awesome.

Didn't Darth Maul get cut in half and kicked off a cliff into a building which later blew up specifically so that he couldn't come back? What's even the point of having a concept of death in this universe if people survive that?

And yes, I know this complaint is old by now. But it's worth saying every single time Darth Maul comes up.

Maybe Maul pulled a Bane and went into hiding to train a new line of Sith? He probably considers himself the only real sith left anyways because of Sheevs playing fast and loose with the rule of two.

If someone is going to kill him it needs to be Owen Lars again though.

 

That was a terrible ending, I thought.

But yes, there's a comic here which really needs to be written.

Hate keeping him Alive
Getting cybernetically repaired
Getting off planet despite
Going completely insane
Ending up on a planet

I mean, this isn't really a thing to just skip over.

There's a line from the movie Soapdish by Whoopie Goldberg where she throws a tantrum about how a character is being rewritten back into a show after he was decapitated. "How am I supposed to write for a guy who doesn't have a head?!"

 

I would love to see more of Maul closer to our current time era.

However, that was pre-Newcanon announcement, so unlike Son of Dathomir, it hasn't (yet) crossed over into the newcanon.

Rebels really isn't the place to finish off Maul's story. He's got nothing to do with the characters and is ridicucously far out of the heroes' league. It'd just be Vader/Maul grudge match that doesn't have anything to do with the cartoon.

 

Agreed considering what they did with him in Clone wars and how dark it got, ending him in Rebels just wouln't do him justice.

As much as I don't hate Maul making it post RotJ, and possibly to TFA (an argument can be made), I really agree with this.

 

Did you guys know they'd all but completed a Darth Maul game for Next Generation consoles when Disney bought Lucasfilm?

I wonder if that would involve the story.

It co-starred Darth Talon.

 

Darth Talon? Of the Legacy comics? I wonder how a game with Darth Maul could co-star her.

 

It amounted to George Lucas bringing a picture of her to them and saying, "Hey, I want her in the game. She's Darth Maul's friend."

Ah, executive meddling.

 

The thing is, they could actually do that now without having to worry about contradicting Legacy.

 

Darth Talon is in "the art of..." book for EP VII. She was almost a villain in TFA.
