Darth Maul Explanation?

    I'm still somewhat new to Star Wars. I've seen all the movies, but can someone please explain Darth Maul. Is he just a Sith Lord or what? Like I said, I've seen Episode I, but what's his relevance in the trilogy?

    Yes, he's Darth Sidious's apprentice in Episode I.

    He's a Sith.
