Full Series Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels

Indeed, they can't find a better post-RotJ era villain for the Rebels since Snoke isn't around for at least 17 years. Thrawn + Maul collaboration would be epic.

 

Well We don't know how long Kylo was influenced by Snoke

 

Kylo isn't going to be born for another twenty odd years yet, so unless nameless extra #14567 is suddenly revealed to have been Snoke all along I would say that is off the table as far as Rebels is concerned.

 

Maul can stay calm and collected, as we've seen in both CW and Rebels, but I never thought he was completely sane. Mother Talzin restored him during the CW, but the events of the last season, with the death of Savage and his capture, and the events of Son of Dathomir likely caused another major instability.

 

Almost certainly seeing as that was His brother and mother

 

so Maul has his own theme for Rebels now.

 

He didn't have one in TCW?

 

Sometimes Maul had elements of Savage's theme used for him, but Maul himself didn't have his own.

 

That's actually surprising.

 

Maul's Gauntlet fighter now has an official name: The Nightbrother. The asteroid base is also called Vizsla Keep 09.

 

I just thought of something. What has Maul been doing between season 2-3 ? There was a six month gap.

 

Yes, you can hear bits of his themes from TPM, the "Maul chants" and "duel of fates". I think Talzin's music theme plays, that bit of music when she touches a forehead.

 

The music is just brilliant though

 

Maul theme sounds rather inspired from Richard Wagner's Siegfried's Funeral March from "Gotterdämmerung".

The Nightbrother's appearances lacks mention of Son of Dathomir?

 

That name is a fitting tribute for his ship, and now that he has abandoned the Sith, I suppose it can also be used to describe him as well. At this point, he has no real allegiance to anyone outside his home world.

That occurred to me as well. He probably spent a good portion of that time reacquainting himself with the modern Galaxy, familiarizing himself with galactic events and assembling resources and bases. Clearly that starfighter of his, the Nightbrother was in deep storage somewhere, given that it survived twenty odd years, so Maul had to go retrieve it.
