Comics Darth Maul (Marvel) #1-5 & Probe Droid Problem (5/5 Released)

I think it's funny how back in the day Jaxxon was always the reflexive go-to for EU detractors to say how dumb the EU was, but as soon as Marvel got the license back, he was immediately the thing people pointed to to show how cool they were for knowing about the old Marvel comics, which were now awesome because everything has to be enjoyed with a hundred levels of irony.

 

Back in 2014, Marvel's Jason Aaron did say that he'd be glad to canonize the "giant bunny rabbit".
And then Mark Laming added this to an issue of the TFA comic adaptation:

I like my canon Jaxxon-free, thank you very much.

 

I'm not fond of alien species as anthropomorphic animals, myself. Like there was that story with Vader and an alien scientist who was an anthropomorphic owl?

 

The Aduba 6 comics are among the best Star Wars fiction. Plus they were the first, period. Show some respect. Harrumph.

I thought the thread was about anthropomorphic animals in Star Wars. Anyone remember the humanoid dogs from the WEG Tatooine Manhunt module? It even identified the breeds -- one of them was a great dane, the other a beagle.

 

We have shark-people thanks to TCW I hope that's as far as the ridiculous aliens go in canon (need I say again, no Jaxxon!).

I know this sounds stupid but by the looks of the preview pages, we're definitely getting the silent and deadly maul from TPM, not Super villain maul from TCW/Rebels

The previews images are textless I think simply because they were previews(most of them were released prior in black and white). Maul talks softly and carries a big stick.

 

Jaxxon HAS been resurrected and done amazingly well -- just as a Racoon named Rocket

Looks...interesting? It would've made a mess in the Legends continuity so much so that it would've been best to consider it as a story in a separate continuity. And taking into account the whole canon vs Legends situation, this game would be Infinities most likely. Not that it matters that much at the end of the day. If it's a good game with a good story then it's all fine by me. And that's why I'd like to know more about this one, did we miss out on something really good, or was it all style with not sustenance?

 

Those combat animations are pitch perfect, especially for a prototype.

Well this was during that time when Clone Wars coming out so it was pre 'official reboot' I say official because I'm someone who likes to think the reboot unofficially began in2008 despite tie ins with other things it's confusing. But a Arkham style Star Wars game would have been interesting.

 

Looked like an awesome game. TCW and Rebels constrains the character too much, like they're afraid to unleash him cause he'd wipe all their other characters away. Hope the comic and Rebels delivers a good storyline and progression for the character, especially one beyond the kiddy cartoon into the future.
