Oh, Talzin's back, interesting... does that mean this is before the episode where she "dies" or that her death was itself another illusion? Hmm...

Surprising facts about his past... mmhmm... could be interesting, maybe, as lots of these Season 6 stories were, but... still... capturing Dooku...

I admit, bit upset they didn't make this an episode though, as ti feels like it was meant to be the Dooku/Maul conclusion, the way Yoda and Sidious had theirs, so probably would have been enjoyable at least, oh well.

I thought we all decided that it was pretty clear she didn't die she just teleported away as she's apt to do.

I wonder if this comic will deliver a parting shot to Darth Plagueis.

Dooku gets a new apprentice? Who could that be?
Also the Darksaber looks like its made of stone on that cover.

Hm, wonder how the Dooku vs. Maul duels in this series would be. While I still think bringing Maul back was a really stupid idea, somewhat disappointed we never got to see Maul duel Dooku in the cartoon- I remember in one of the older, better Clone Wars novels (Labyrinth of Evil I think) Dooku thinking of Maul as just a wild beast, so might have been interesting to see how he actually fared against Maul. Oh well, anything else would be kind of a letdown after Sidious took out both Maul and Savage. Although if Dooku vs. Maul ends up kind of like Vader vs. Maul did (did they throw that out of continuity yet?), it might still be interesting.

Though probably still won't bother picking this series up, don't care about Maul. And when they say elite Jedi strike force, I half expect their names will be Redshirt, Cannon Fodder and probably some relative of Ima-Gun Di.

It's so nice to see Dooku drawn like Christopher Lee again instead of like the ridiculously-narrow-faced wooden maquette that TCW borrowed from Genndy.

Wouldn't Palpatine have confiscated the Darksaber?

No, Sidious' new apprentice. As in, Dooku. Because he's newer than Maul.

    Sorry, I misread.
"New" makes it sound like the apprentice was acquired recently, though.
This is like the second time Dooku gets captured in the new timeline...

Despite my earlier speculation, Talzin's fate remains unknown. Now that they've confirmed she's appearing again, this almost certainly takes place after the 2 parter.

Having said that, I can't help but wonder if the way she faded out has something to do with her desire to collect the Living Force, and that will play into these issues.

    Dooku vs. Maul?
    Elite Jedi strike team?
    Secrets about characters' backgrounds?

This is the sort of stuff I hoped that Maul's resurrection would have brought!
Mace vs. Maul and/or Dooku, kthanksbye.

Given this series is likely to be Dark Horse's last, they'll go all out–the strike team will consist of Quinlan Vos, Aayla Secura, K'Kruhk, Jeisel, Dass Jennir, and Yoshi Raph-Elan.

If Dark Horse have actually had influence on the story, and aren't just doing a direct adaptation of the TV script, then I'd love something like that.

Right now, though, I'm simply hoping it turns out better than most of the other Clone Wars comics, as they've not been Dark Horse's best works and usually more cheap cash-ins. Hopefully that won't be the case though, as it'd be depressing if that was what Dark Horse's last comic was...

I believe I saw some official sketches of Maul crossing blades with Quinlan Vos, so at least he was probably part of the strike team.

I think some of the comments on this issue have leaked into the previous thread. Anyway, the reveal of Talzin's background is puzzling, but I agree with others that its not totally unworkable.

Not really, the previous thread was called "Issue #1 out now!" before getting its current title;) It kind of became the thread for the entire mini-series.
