If you look not too far into the final lightsaber battle in Episode 1 Darth Maul does a little number where he just picks up an item sitting on the ground and flings it against the wall using the force, now I don't think I'm the only one who thinks that was a little "SPAZZY".

That was pretty cool. It was a battle droid corpse.

I thought it was very cool, and as posted above, he used it to open the doors.

If there is one thing to be learned from all of this, it's that no likes a show-off and in the end, they all end up at the bottom of a melting pit.

I think it looks slick :D

All the spinning around himself is more, what do you call it, "SPAZZY" However, that looks slick too :D

I love that part. Quite effective use of the Force during a duel, if you ask me.

Now what WAS showing off was right after that when he did a little twirl in the air and jumped over his lightsaber blade. ;)

    Maul does that a lot.
    He's definitely a show-off ;)

Indeed. He certainly does seem to enjoy himself a lot for someoen who's so vehemently dedicated to "having their revenge [. . .finally]".

But hey, can you really argue with it?

He does seem to enjoy what he does quite a bit, doesn't he. I like how he smiles at Obi-Wan right after stabbing Qui-Gon.

About the part where Maul jumps over his own lightsaber in TPM, watch Obi-Wan. Instead of charging Maul when his head is turned, he just sits there and twirls his lightsaber. He and Qui-Gon must not want to kill Maul too badly, looking at some of the things that they do during the fight.

Perhaps he is not as powerful as the Emperor thought...

Yeah he does show off but not in that particular occasion. He flung that piece to open the doors.

Those acrobatics when he was fighting Obi-Wan (starting when he lost half his lightsaber) was pretty cool. That was showing off but come on. He's enjoying the fight. Just shows how fearless and skilled he really is..

    (SPOILERS BELOW)
DM IS enjoying himself: after a lifetime of training he's finally doing what he was create for > fighting Jedi. Of course he's showing off, psyching the Jedi out. Does a good job of it too! After he (SPOILER) nixes QGJ (SPOILER) he's downright ecstatic. of course, he lacks the experience and finesse of Dooku who almost 86's 2 Jedi!

Maul was really enjoying himself, as it was the greatest challenge he had faced so far.

Also, the spinning blade technique isn't precisely a showoff move; it could have been done to try and distract Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon.

I wouldn't say he was showing off that much. Just about all of his techniques were serving a purpose, either to ice a Jedi or distract them.

I only wish he could've fought a little longer with the single blade. That was pretty sweet. Now THAT guy was well-trained!

Besides, he can show off as much as he wants, if he feels like it. It's not like he can't back it up!

    (Unless OB1's around, dammit!)

He could've smoked a LOT of Jedi.
