Besides TCW, was Darth Maul ever disobedient during his apprenticeship under Darth Sidious?

 

He tried to kill Sidious once, in the Darth Maul Journal.

I think I remember that scene now. It was also in Wrath of Darth Maul (they both tell of Maul's apprenticeship). And like everything Sidious does, it was a test.

That man has a scientist's soul.

 

Yeah, Sidious basically stranded him alone on a planet of assassin droids for a month or so, showed up, threatened to replace Maul, and Maul went berserk.

Then it had that cool scene of Sidious using Maul's lightsaber to trace around him. Good stuff.

 

I just finished Darth Plagueis today, and this instance, or one just like it, is also mentioned in one of Maul's POV moments there.

 

All that stuff is Legends and not new canon. That history will probably be re-written

 

Doesn't mean one can't enjoy it.

Besides until something fills in those empty spaces it's still canon to me or if the new "canon" isn't as good.

 

So.....?

 

Hopefully when they write the new canon, they won't try to marginalize Maul as not being a full Sith Lord and just an assassin.
