Darth Sidious EU

Has there ever been any sort of EU about Darth Sidious, apart from books where he doesn't feature heavily, like the Darth Maul books, is there any EU on his history, if so can you answer my questions?

1. Who was Darth Sidious' Master?
&
2. How old is he?

If EU has answers to that, could you please tell me, thanks.

As for your specific questions, there is not an EU answer to the first one: Who is Palpatine's master? If you don't want to be spoiled, then I suggest waiting until the Revenge of the Jedi novellization or comic adaptation is published to find the answer. (Or, I suppose you could also wait for the movie. )

For the second one: "how old is he?," there may be an "EU" answer, but it's likely been established already as related to question one in background material for this person.

If you don't want to be spoiled, then wait until May, because likely both will be answered for you then.

Discussion of Revenge of the Jedi spoilers

Darth Sidious is 91 at the time of Return of the Jedi.

EU on Sidious is very, very sketchy. Apart from Dark Empire, he's only mentioned here and there - there's no story that concentrates greatly on his background, IIRC. Anyways:

1. Who was Darth Sidious' Master?

We won't be finding this out in EU, but we all will know, soon.


2. How old is he?

The Star Wars Episode I Insider gives him as being born 82 years before ANH, and thus he is 85 in ESB and 86 in ROTJ. It remains to be seen how Revenge of the Sith will adjust this...

ROTS was actually going to be originally titled as "Return of the Sith," but then Lucas decided that returning isn't a trait he wanted the Sith to have. Another title he used to throw off the reporters was Red Harvest.

 

no he was originally going to call episode 6 revenge of the jedi, but decided that revenge wasnt something a jedi would do
