When I saw the name of the location as the dragon's mansion I was like "Oh yeah Vader's gonna fight some dragon creature!"......wasn't expecting Max Reebo's gangsta uncle

I'm calling it, at the end of the arc Thanoth finds out about Vader's part in the credit theft and Vader kills him in a way that deflects blame away from him.

 

Thanoth is pretty clever. He must know he is on top of Vader's kill list if Vader is indeed involved. But like he said himself, he is not a coward. The threat of death doesn't seem to deterr him.

They are similar in many ways, Thanoth and Vader.

 

Whatever happens Thanoth is clearly too clever NOT to have discovered Vader's secret by the end of this arc

 

I agree. In every scene Thanoth has been like



I'm really uncertain as to his fate because there is a lot to his character I still don't know. He says he is loyal to the Empire, but I'm still not sure how he would react to discovering Vader's secret.

 

I am very excited for this issue as always

 

It's more dramatic and fulfilling if he finds out and we get to witness the consequences. It could spell his death of course.

But I am wondering if perhaps Gillen has grander plans than to present Thanoth as just one more obstacle that Vader has to overcome.

 

Wild card idea: Why kill when you can convert?

 

It's not so wild a card, it's an idea that's floating around since Thanoth became part of the story.

Tagge is a by the book person, he probably already suspects, but what's he gonna do?

 

I really wish they'd use the Astarte twins more, they're not really capitalizing on them as interesting characters

 

Looking forward to seeing how Sherlock Thanoth reacts when/if he figures out what Vader's role in this is or if he already knows.

 

Vader: How long have you known?
Thanoth: Since I first met you lord Vader, what I don't know is why
Vader: I'm not the only one who has been lying all this time inspector....
(**** proceeds to go down)

 

I wonder what Thanoth's background is. Does he have a wife? Does he have kids? Grandchildren? If yes, I'm afraid very bad things might happen.

 

Thanoth is shaping up to be an interesting character.

I wonder how long this comic series will go on for?

 

The perfect ending would be Sheev saying to Vader, "The Death Star II has fallen behind schedule. Inform Jerjerrod that I'm on my way."

 

As long as it sells.

 

This issue was mostly an Aphra issue that shone a little light on her background and showed (for me at least) that she's pretty much a "bad guy" now doing whatever her master commands.

 

Loved the moment of the coroner very cleverly confirming what Vader already suspected... no more, no less.

 

In his head he was probably like "Just the son....then that means she doesn't know about the.......I can still protect the other your highness"

 

Boy, I'll never be able to watch C-3PO with the same eyes again. I will always be afraid he could be Creepio with a new paint job.

 

Right I guess Gillen has been watching a lot of Sherlock.

He even has a monocle.

It'll really be unsatisfying to see Vader take him out.

His brother secretly runs the ISB and Imperial Intelligence in his spare time.

 

I agree. Killing Thanoth at the end of this arc would be a waste. The character should be kept and expanded upon. Give us a series of short stories with Thanoth sleuthing for the Empire!

 

Is that Ortolan drawn based on the original design? The OS ran an article a while back showing that Ortolan's were not intended to be look like the one's we saw in the EU, but their 'ears' are actually their upper limbs. The art in these few panels looks to me like it might be based on the original design. Anyone else see it?

 

No. Obviously all he has is a friend in a bowler hat, and an addiction to opioids.
