General Gentis’s plan to take over the fledgling Empire and depose the Emperor and Darth Vader is nearly complete. All that remains is to lure Grand Moff Tarkin to Coruscant and capture him.

But Gentis has not reckoned with the power of the dark side—or with the secrets of the Ghost Prison. War has come to Coruscant, and even thousands of loyal cadets and troopers are no match for what Vader has unleashed!

I hope Lord Vader and His Imperial Majesty get a cute scene at the end. With hearts and flowers and cherubs.

Vader is thrusting his crotch at the viewer, much like Jacen used to do on NJO covers.

Would Vader still have a crotch at this point? Honestly can't remember how much Obi-Wan cut off [face_hypnotized]

He didn't Maul him, he cut him off at the knees.

That being said, I imagine it's fairly crispy down there. I wish I hadn't just imagined that, but there we go.

So I'm going to jump on board this series once this last issue releases...

Darth Vader and the Lost Command: to read or not to read? I'll definitely get it at some point, but I have to be a bit of a cheapskate for awhile...

Urgh, Lost Command was nothing like this at all! It was cliched, predictable, made Vader out to be some whiny little Haden-esque emo, and was just plain boring.

But is it "necessary" at all as a lead-in to this? Connected at all, or do I just need to know that Vader sulked?

No. IMO they are both completely stand-alone. Though this one does include Trachta and has some call-forwards to Empire.

Unrelated other than that they both have Star Wars and Darth Vader in the title. Also probably a colon, along with "and the." That's where the similarities end.

The parts of Lost Command where Vader was shrugging off explosions to the chest were pretty good, though.

    What?

    I'm easily pleased.

I think I may be able to forgive mopy Vader in exchange for a bit of shrugging-off-missiles-action... :p

Though to be honest, if Lost Command takes place shortly after ROTS, I don't have too much of a problem with him being partly Hayden Christensen in a mask... as long as that series serves as the catapult that launches him into being the Dark Lord we know.

That does sound cool, yet despite having read Lost Command, I have no memory of that happening. That's how lame it was; even the cool moments were absorbed mercilessly into its maw.
