You nailed it. X-Men has done this similarly ending in UXM 600 after restarts & such. Not that it mattered later on, but yea this is the world of comics, Marvel esp. and DC.

 

I'm pretty sure we're going to see his castle from Rogue One.

I literally just found out about this. What a great way to begin your day!

What I really hope we see in this is the phasing out of the clone troopers and Clone Wars era Republic technology. I'd especially love it if Commander Cody made an appearance and he and Vader had a conversation about Obi-Wan.

 

Damn you're right. Not even the EU touched Cody that much. He needs a comeback.

 

The new canon re-canonized Vader’s Fist, who are still under the official name of 501st Legion I believe, so I really really want to know what happened to them after ROTS. Were they all also phased out and replaced by stormtrooper recruits or Vader kept the clone veterans? Is Appo still around?

 

Appo hasn't been killed in canon (yet). He was killed in Dark Lord about a month after ROTS. We'll see if this comic contradicts that.

 

I know, which is why I'm curious about how they'll approach that topic this time (if they approach it). Mostly because the new canon has been quite insistent with the phasing out of the clone troopers. But personally, I hope that Vader kept his clones and that Appo's death was like in Dark Lord or something similar.

 

That doesn't align with him telling Dave Filoni to be careful not to make Vader seem like less of a threat in Rebels.

 

Seeing as this series kicks off directly after ROTS, I wonder if we'll see the moment when Vader found out that Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan was "killed" on Mandalore along with his most loyal captain.

I also hope they keep Vader's pathological desire for vengeance against Kenobi in his early days, such as when he willingly walked into a trap of a dozen jedi just because he heard Obi wan MIGHT be there.

 

I am really excited for this comic but the article does mention some supporting players....who do you think they'll be besides Palpy?

 

I am also really excited about this new series. Here are some things I am looking forward to the most and what I hope will be included:

• Vader's castle;
• Clone troopers still being around;
• Inquisitors (already confirmed);
• Something I thought would fit more into the gap between Episodes V an VI, but would rather see it depicted here rather than nowhere - Darth Vader/Anakin learning the Jedi way of preserving his spirit after death;
• Enough differences from Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader (not that the book was not good) and the Purge series (also good).

Yeah, I'd like to see some clones as well, at the very least Cody. I think some of them could've been his second in command. Also, I'd like to see some mention of who all knows Anakin is Vader.

 

I like to imagine the Emperor himself trolling Vader like that.

I could not be more excited for this book.

And I just remember how miserable so many people were when Disney / Marvel announced the NU -- and how many of them are so happy now!

Yeah lots of good stuff is churned out. Of course not every fan can be pleased but at least we see constant progress with no setbacks.

I'm really looking forward to see how newly formed imperial military works from inside. What happened to the clones. There're so much opportunities just with clones alone.
