Darth Vader Televised Specials to Screen in Spring (Cancelled)

Even there SW is also pretty much everywhere. Comics, books, tv-series, video games, dvds you name it. There's no media in which SW doesn't play some role. And it's all due to George.

Of course there were no movies recently (discounting the TCW movie) but I don't think a bunch of movies would hurt the franchise at this point. More likely it is invigorated.

That is unless they make 15 SW movies in a row. But right now i don't see a reason to believe that.

 

I wonder if they'll have the Inquisitor in Vader's tv-deal, or if they'll feature Rhett?

Somebody has to be his Imperial whipping boy.

 

They should feature Daine Jir. When is that character getting his spot in the limelight?

 

Since when are movies five bucks? Can I go visit this alternate reality?

 

I too would enjoy learning about the Imperial officers. The EU never talks about them.

 

I was referring to Trek back in the day, late 80s - mid 90s when Trek reigned on TV and the movies began their box office slide.

Oh yeah. There was news some time ago about ABC's president of whatever talking about discussions being had about a live action Star Wars. Hopefully the technology has finally caught up with the desire to do something like this. The overriding factor in any live action Star Wars series is going to be cost, and Disney is not in the business of losing money. As fans we need to reconcile our desire to see a series like this with the realization that it may be made with cost cutting methods employed. The thing about SHIELD is its ability to use real world backdrops for scenes. That could be enough to offset the cost in order to make it viable. I know there's a thread for the live action series....sorry. :-(

 

Everything we know about Jir sounds like badass mofo. How is it possible the guy never got his own comic series?

He could also be a believable sidekick in Vader-centric material.

 

Disney *might* be using a Vader TV mini-series to suck in a wider audience for Rebels, only to turn around and hardly have him appear in the new animated series.

"Oh, sorry. You thought Vader was going to be the overshadowing antagonist in Rebels? oops"

 

Wait a few weeks and Dollar-Theaters will beat the PANTS out of that number.

this is like Detours 2.0. They filmed but unreleased....
Paul Scheer went on to say that the After Darth talk show filmed a total of eight episodes ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That’s a pretty amazing chunk of footage, but the actor is adamant that the parody will never, ever be released, and that’s a damn shame, considering everything that Star Wars did end up releasing after Episode VII.

 

I do think a Darth Vader show could work with a similar approach to the comics.

I kind of want this released, I know that Lucasfilm don't want to parody SW but I find SW is very very parodiable series and comedy has a lot of potential. Still hope they release Detours one day.
