Except......Vader is a Force user. There is no need to assume that he is using simply physical strength.

They were also on a ship at the time. Artificial gravity can be set to whatever.

Wouldn't matter- if artificial gravity is reset, it applies to both of them.

Though I suppose Vader could have magnetic boots.

Gravity has a direct connection with weight.

Edit: Also the Force trumps all physical impossibilities.

Bruce Lee at 5'7" and 145 - 150 pounds could take a 70 pound weight and hold it straight out in one hand for a few moments. If said Rebel is of average weight of 165 pounds then Vader need only weigh 330 pound sor so excluding using the Force. Mass is certainly a factor(the Hulk could not spin in a circle as he did in the first Hulk film with a tank no matter how strong he is).

And of course, there is the Force. Vader need not weigh 460 pounds. That's like Andre the Giant weight before Andre got fat.

But if you "double the gravity"- then not only will Vader weigh more in pounds, but so will the guy he's holding.

No no, if you had Bruce Lee strength you could hold half your bodyweight out in front of you with one arm. So if the Rebel is 165 then Vader would need to be 330.

Not to mention that that arm is a machine. Who knows what it's lifting capacity is.

    Plus Force.

    Anyway...moving to SWC.

The Force is always the answer to something like this. Done with that and now onto another forum!

I never thought Vader was using the Force when he lifted those guys from the neck? I saw it was Lucas demonstrating not only the power of Vader's force-using powers through the force chokes but also how physically intimidating Vader was as well through the throat grabbing. *shrug*

It's a fun discussion while we wait for the next morsel of news... :)

With all of that machinery and armor, he just might weigh that much.
