Thanks for the feedback. yea Duivel was kinda fun, i don't always create a lot of characters like him, or post them for that matter.

 

I like the design of the cruiser for Grievous a lot. It looks very aggressive and seems like it would suit his personality.

You might want to put a little person somewhere on the image so we can get an idea for scale. Is this a small cruiser, piloted by two people, or is this a mammoth star-destroyer size thing?

 

I'm glad you put up a larger version of that vader pic, I thought it was really cool, just too small originally. I also really like Grevious's Cruiser.. I love seen all kinds of concept art, I think it's my favorite only because of the great ideas that spring forth. My favorite though is the Jedi Hands, it's very soft (which I just seem to personally care for more.) and the detail itself shows you must've put a lot of work into it.. did you use a model or anything for those hands?

 

the hands are my own, that was one of my more interesting pictures mainly b/c the detail took about an hour or so, and the positioning on the saber, and Dk- I saw your saber designs, those are wicked cool.

I hate drawing hands, but it looks like you did a good job with them. Keep up the good work.

ps: I just signed up and I'm suprised there are so many good artists here!

 

Very nice hands, Darth_Arsnl--and hands are just notoriously tough to draw! Using your own as "models" seemed to work pretty well! I'm going to second the "cool" vote on the Grievous cruiser--but also agree that a figure, somewhere in the drawing (for scale) would be good, too--it would let us see how big it's supposed to be. Great work--keep it up!

Appreciate the feedback,and since i won't get the chance to edit the general's cruiser, it is about the size of anakin's cruiser in ROTS. If anyone has any ideas as to what i should draw next, please by all means. Check back in a few days.

Great ship designs. Very detailed... I'd love to see them bigger.

Nice take on the trooper with the cape, too. His forearm weapon is pretty cool!

And kudos for doing stuff from the request thread.

 

I would like to see them bigger too.lol. but my stubborn scanner says otherwise. sry. But thank you for the input! and if you have any ideas as to what I should draw next, please let me know.

Your first trooper and your first vader drawings would make awesome t-shirts.

 

I forgot who it was, but someone held a t-shirt design search on the request boards, but he or she never responded. Otherwise I would have sent those pictures in. And awesome news, I just took a few of my finals and I did really good, and got a new job at the family golfcourse,expect a nice drawing real soon! Also thanks for the feedback.

Oh, excellent idea: showing what "The General" looked like before he ended up "parted-out" in a 'droid body! Great! I like the composition here, with the full-body, human face and the Grievous face sort of looming behind. As to critique--I'm no figure artist, so take this with a grain of salt--I think the body view is a bit too narrow in the hips, and the arms may be a touch too short. The pose seems very fluid, tho--it's readily apparent that he's walking toward us, by the positioning of the legs and feet. Great detail on the clothing/robes, too, and very good movement there ("drapery" is something I struggle with... ). I really appreciate this study, Darth_ArsnL--I have to say I was burning with curiosity as to what/where/how the good General came to be what/who he was in the film, and this is a great exploration!

Nice cruiser design, too--I like the rear canard. It reminds me of some sort of sea-beast, but for the life of me, I can't come up with a name/species! Very cool!

I love checking out people's original ship designs... there's just something interesting about them.

I think it was a very clever idea to try to draw Grievous before he was 'droid-ified'. I don't think I've ever seen anyone attempt that, so this was very unique.

 

grievous is supose to be part lizard, not human. lol. nice drawings tho.

 

I wouldn't doubt ya or anything but,
Wait a sec, you mean b-4 his being rebuilt he was part lizard? Cuz I read somewhere that he was human before the incident? Someone help me out here...I honestly have no clue bout this one.

The General was a Kaleesh warrior before his "accident". I do believe they're a reptilian species.

These drawings are very well done, ArsnL. Keep it up.

Oh and did you guys watch George Lucas recive the lifetime achievment award?! it was a really great show!

 

There's something really cool about the shading on Anakin's chest. I'm assuming it's just smudged graphite, but it looks almost like an ink wash, especially around his left torso area.

You've got a nice variety to your images. Keep it up!
