Great capture of emotion on the face in your last post, D_A--it's easy to see he's really upset about something. I, too, like the shading here: very "directional," and nicely blended. This is a wonderful rendering of this scene--and not an easy one to capture, with the intense emotion in Anakin's features. Well done!

Nice stuff, I like the shading on anakin's hair, you can tell where the shine is, and It seems you've got figure drawing down pretty well. Good job.

Thanks guys. And I'm currently working on grievous as a lizard thing, along with a rocky stagtite planet scene, and another anakin sketch. :)
    Appreciate all the feedback.

To echo in on what FalconFan said, You really have clearly captured his expression very well, and nice job on the shading of his physique. Definately easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean. ^_^

"And I'm currently working on grievous as a lizard thing, along with a rocky stagtite planet scene, and another anakin sketch."

Looking forward to those! Especially the one about Grievous, as I had no idea that he used to be a lizard until reading this thread and I'm very interested to see your rendition.

I liked your human attempt at Grievous, but this one is probably a much more realistic look at him. Very interesting design on his armour! I like that you drew a little inset with his face, too.

Your environment is very cool, indeed. The mountains are claw-like... the whole thing looks very threatening.

You did a nice job on Anakin's expression, and his hand if very well-drawn. It really seems to be wrapping around his saber hilt with strength. His arm is coming at a bit of an awkward position, though. If his forearm were that parallel to the ground while up near the top of his chest, his shoulder would have the be hunched up a little to accomodate that.

Wicktone- I hadn't thought of doing that with his shoulder, i'll keep that in mind, in the meantime, this was just my idea of messing around with paint, and jasc photo shop.

I liked your Grievous-lizard idea. He definitely looks like he was in the military, like his pre-droid character was supposed to be. Good job!

I really, really like your planet, D_A--very surrealistic, but with a tremendous amount of "atmosphere" and depth: the planets hanging in the sky have a wonderful volume to them (and the curvy, curly lines you've used to define them are just great!), while the surface environment we're facing is both intriguing and forbidding, particularly with the wonderful shadows you've used to create distance. A beautiful job--very "concept art-ish!" I love the fierce expression on Anakin's face--wick was right about his arm and shoulder, tho--don't laugh, but sometimes it's helpful to strike our desired pose in a mirror ourselves, and just look at the body forms--what's visible, what's not, how are the shapes/forms overlapped or hidden. Sometimes that can help, when you're trying to "create" figures--and sometimes, it can point out what the body can't do, in terms of movement (I speak from experience! lol!). And the "Pre-Grievous Redux" is great--I really like how you've outfitted him here (and his body actually looks a lot like the 'droid frame he ended up in! ;) ). In your digital additions, there's a very nice "mood" to the lightsaber-in-the-grass piece: it sort of tells a story, of a war-weary Jedi that just flops into that inviting grass and wants desperately not to fight anymore... I like it a lot! And I laughed at the "impression" you added, inviting someone to "flop" a character in there! "Add character here," the sign could say!

    Nice additions here!

I enjoy makeing people laugh. I had a fun time with the lightsaber in the grass. And I tried the mirror thing. lol. I 'll have to find time to fix that...
Thank you all very much for the feedback, I'm currently working on a request, but so far no response from the guy, but I figured I'd do them for fun if he doesn't respond soon.

The third one down of your WIP is by far my favorite. What a great pose! It has a very Ralph McQuarrie-ish sketch quality to it.

I think it's great that you're drawing him concept style; the armor and the face and everything in separate views so we can really see what makes up this character.
