Dave Land: Please Note Before Reprinting Marvel!

Dave, a word of advice if and when Dark Horse decides to reprint the entire Marvel run of Star Wars comics:

Please do not try and place them arbitrarily on your Dark Horse timeline, PLEASE can you check with continuity experts if you have any timeline questions, because trust me, this has all been worked out before by timeline fans, people such as Dan Wallace, Chaz LiBretto, James McFadden, Chris McElroy, myself, etc . . .

If you need any assistance, all you need to do is ask!

 

Does anyone else have this fear?

In terms of Dark Horse's timeline, the easiest thing for them to do would be to just list all Marvel Star Wars comics in one big range and say that they collectively occur between such and such dates on the timeline. I'm not positive, but I think they all occur between ANH and a little after ROTJ.

 

Actually, there are some comics that appear before ANH...

 

Actually the Frame stories for the stories that happen before anh, happen after anh.

 

Guys you worry too much... Relax. It'll turn out all right in the end.

 

When it comes to Star Wars, I'm a bit of an OCD case. I'd bet I'm not alone....

 

Or he could do the proper thing and just put a big fat 'Infinities' label on it.

 

I'd rather them actually work them into the Chronology. PLEASE do this right!

I second that motion.

 

Considering they are already part of the timeline, no matter what order they are put in fit in the timeline somehow, but fans will have to sort it out.


Putting infinities on them would just be conflicting with lfl's policy, and what they already deemed fit for marvel. Expect if marvel get's marked with infinities, TTT, and the rest of the EU could be fair canidates as well.

Also note that LFL's police according to TOS, that Infinties on tale doesn't mean, that all the stories are AU, just that some of them could be.

Beyond that infinities will be put onto future story arcs, that LFL deems not fit to be part of continuity.

 

I will cry if it is labelled with infinities.

If the Marvel comics are 'officially' (by LFL) wedged into the timeline then I would probably buy them. I haven't read many of them but perhaps if I read all the arcs then I'd find them enjoyable and besides, I'm a completist.

Lucasfilm will hopefully provide some "locked" dates.

 

Let's hope that LFL goes to the right people for advice, ie: Dan Wallace.

 

I still think Dan Wallace, Rich Handley, Abel Pena, Pablo Hidalgo and Juan Shwartz are all doing incredible jobs working the Marvel stories into the more recent Post-1988 SWEU.

Hopefully, Wizards of the Coast and Del Rey will continue to work with the Marvel storylines and will contribute more literature to compliment anything Dark Horse Comics decides to do with the Marvel storyline.

Read the EC, inserted by LFL there. Read TOS, officially(by lfl) inserted there, Read over Half the star wars gamer, offically inserted into continuity there, the list goes on and on.

I know that a lot of it has been incorporated in recent years but I really want to just see the whole thing given dates in the timeline and not just certain scenarios. It's definitely going in the right direction though.

 

Any more thought on this matter?

 

As long as they put some work into fitting these in, im going to be happy. When i finally read these, I want them to make sense.
