It's so hard to choose, not the least because I have songs that have a special meaning due to me listening to them at certain events in my life.

My top three are probably Absolute beginners, Life on Mars and Heroes though.

Oh, I forgot about that one! Yes, absolutely lovely. It kind of makes me wish he'd done interpretations more often. Which reminds me that I love his version of Across the Universe from Young Americans. I have to be honest and say that Young Americans is an album that I feel misses the mark a lot, but that cover is one of the best things he ever did.

And Diamond Dogs just still holds up.

At least that crap show Heroes is good for something: the soundtrack is on Amazon Prime Music, and includes the Bowie song.

If you're sad today it's because the world is four billion years old, and you managed to be born at the same time as dumbasses who make memes, but can't spell

I think it's a nice sentiment, regardless of whom it came from or whether meme creators can spell.

Also, I was already having an urge to rewatch The Prestige, but now it has become a need.

And wow, Bowie's close circle keeping secret both the fact that he had an album and the fact that he had cancer and was near death? Those are spectacular friends indeed. We do not actually need to know about the private health information of celebrities. I'm very glad he was able to go out the way he wanted to, in a thoughtful way while also gifting the world with one more album. That's a very admirable thing, and would not have been made one bit better by a press release 18 months ago.

I agree, good quote. I'm the last person who should b about spelling. I don't know where I'd be with auto-courgette

    Pleasure.

Found it purely by chance browsing. It's one of those "really wanted to play that back in the day but never had time" games for me. I'm nearly done with Mass Effect, i'll get stuck into this one next.

I just finished my David Bowie marathon. I made it through all the songs I could find (291!), and have to say my favourite songs are Lazarus, Space Oddity, After All, Red Sails, and Oh! You Pretty Things. My top albums have to be Lodger, Outside, Young Americans, and The Next Day.

I had trouble choosing 4-5 of each, though, because each one was its own work of art and had something I liked.

As an aside, I drew this as a tribute in the midst of my listening. Figured this was the place for it. :)
