    *** CANCELLED - unfortunately David Prowse's wife is ill :( ***

David Prowse - Tutbury Crystal - Stoke on Trent - Saturday 29th July 2006
    ***Repost from Regional forums***

I just had an email today from Petra Gelens who works for Tutbury Crystal.

    Website: http://www.tutburycrystal.co.uk/

They have new facilities opening next week in Stoke on Trent, and David Prowse (Darth Vader) is coming to officially open it. They are also launching a ?design your own glass? program, and David will be doing it himself. Once he has designed his glass, they will produce a number of them for people to buy (either through David?s website or their own, check later for details). It probably won't be Darth Vader images, since that requires a LF license.

Petra contacted me because she wants fans to know about this event, and fans are more than welcome to come down to the facilities to meet David. In fact she hopes people will come down and support it.

The event is taking place on Wednesday 5 July 2006, and David Prowse should be there between 10am and 1pm. As I understand it, David Prowse will be also available for signing and taking personal photographs with him. Mr. Prowse will have his own personal photographer there.

I believe the event is taking place here ?

This is your territory, so I have already talked to Lord-Wiz about it. I have also contacted a few other possible interested parties.

I know it's very short notice (apologies for that) and also a few days after the FF-UK: London @ LFCC, so I won't be able to attend myself, but if anyone wants to head down there and see David Prowse, you are more than welcome to :D

    i won't be going.

i have absolutely no interest in travelling a couple of hours out of my way to see dave prowse sign his name, especially after my last experience with him.

plus it's doubtful whether i would get back in time to pick the kids up from school.

    Lol Jon! :p

Wiz - no worries, fully understand, but like I said to you in the PM, the info is there for anyone to make use of, as they wish ;) From my pov, it's nice if fans can support these smaller events just like the bigger ones (size matters not :p Sorry!), but usually more time would be needed.

I won't be attending, for the simple reason what Wiz stated. Not to mention, I don't think I'll have the transport to get up to Stoke.

I apologise for the lateness of this message, but I just received an email from Tutbury glass that David Prowse has had to reschedule his visit to the 28th of July.

He sends his apologies, and hopes to meet his fans on the 28th.

That would be great Chris, it's too close to 30th and Bristol for me to make it again. I'll keep you updated on any more changes if they happen (the Tutbury event is quite close to another convention David is appearing in).

No worries Verity, I think that's going to be a problem for a lot of people, and probably down to when Mr. Prowse can give them free time away from conventions.

    CANCELLED!

Just had an email from the organiser - seems its getting hard to keep a Sith Lord to his dates lol! David Prowse has now cancelled this event for the current time, due to unforseen circumstances.

Blimey! He must be a busy bloke to have to keep shifting it and now cancelling it

I think the cancellation this time has more to do with his wife being poorly unfortunately. Not sure what Tutbury are going to do now in regards to this event, it was meant to tie in with them opening their new store and also new system.
