SWRPF Archive Dawn of a New Threat (100 yrs after the Yuuzhan Vong)

OOC: First, there was no fighting at Kuat. A single convoy of YOUR ships arrived there carrying YOUR supplies, as was expected. The NR and their fleets are still chasing down bands of mercenaries along the backroads of the galaxy.

Second, unless you can give a reason for the people of the Golan Arms Corp. to be completely suicidal, then the arrival of Ten thousand ships of ISD II or greater class would be more than significant to quell their dissention.

And where did you get all those Star destroyers? Counting all the ships that you started with, plus the shipyard productions (I know that this entire series of events couldn't have realistically taken place over more than a couple of weeks, but I would be willing to grant three months time, but remember my generosity...) you couldn't have produced more than about 200, including the Byss shipyards, which were destroyed in case you forgot. Capitol ships do not come off the production lines the same way as cars, they take time...and lots of it...to be produced. Then you would have to factor in the occupation and quelling of the shipyard locations, then the occupation and naturalization of planets capable of mining the materials needed to build such a massive number of ships, then you would have to find ships to carry those materials, find crews, then occupy and control worlds which would produce the food, fuel, and other manufactured goods to make this entire operation possible. Then there is the matter of producing the hyperdrives needed to move shipyards, and then the production of tractor beams large enough and powerful enough to drag them into hyperspace. If I remember correctly, it took about 60 Imdustrial stregnth tractor beams to hold a single star destroyer in place, and even that wasn't perfect. It would take an incredible amount of tractor beams, or a tractor beam the size of a small moon, to transport some of the largest shipyards in existance across the galaxy. Zonoma Sekot was producing and buying hyperdrive motivators for years before it could be moved through hyperspace.

At the time of Hero's Trial, at the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, the New Republic shipyards were each producing around two hundred captiol ships (and not star destroyers or mon cal cruisers, but the smaller assault frigates and gunboat types) Then, at the time of Destiny's Way, nearly four years later, they were just BEGINNING to see the first ships come off the production lines. C'mon people, lets be a little realistic here. 500 SD's in three months is incredibly unlikely, and is downright impossible in a matter of weeks.

OOC: Actually, Moshu and I weren't dueling. Just threatening each other.

IC: Kaylen glanced at the entrance to the stone structure, where a tall woman and an extremely tall man emerge from.

"We'll settle this later, fuzzball," he announced to the Ewok sith as he turned to the newcomers while turning off his lightsaber, but not putting it away.

"Which of you is the master? I seek training. And why on this planet is this stupid teddy bear guarding the door and threatening me?"

 

Entering the new emperors chambers, a rush of adrenaline came through rommels body. Only in his dreams had he ever thought that he would enter the emperors chambers. He walked up to the throne and bent down on one knee.

Rommel-"What is thy bidding my emperor."

"Fuzzball? Teddy bear?" Moshu grits his teeth. "I'll have you know I've slaughtered more beings then you have seen in your entire life! And what is this fascination with being a master? It is the power that counts, not the title. You're not worth wasting my time on."

 

Kaylen ignores the Ewok's protests, but keeps his lightsaber in hand, just in case.

 

OOC: Destroying small animals and insects... Moshu's hobby.
"Hmm..." Moshu goes back to destroying small animals and insects.

 

Brins stepped forward. "You'll have to forget about our little Ewok. He can be...eccentric at times. I am the oldest Master here. Feylis, my former apprentice who stands next to me, has just passed the trials into Mastership. She is our newest Master. And I would like it very much if you showed respect for the ancient Sith made world of Iridonia."

 

Feylis chuckled as the short man spoke. Teddy bear indeed. She then shot Moshu a threatening look. What was up with him?

"Hello. And you are?" Feylis asked.

 

OOC: Oh? Not dueling? Well, you were. Kind of. Dueling with words.

IC: Feylis couldn't stop the smirk from spreading across her face. Was it that time of year when Iridonia attracted the short Sith? She schooled her face to impassiveness as she awaited the short man to identify himself.

 

Kaylen raised an eyebrow as he tucked away his lightsaber. "'Made'? Do you mean to say this world is artifical? Either way, I am Kaylen Zatharic, from Lavisar. I have taught myself Sith techniques from an old data cache I found. As I already stated, I seek training."

 

Brins closed his eyes for a short second then reopened them. He looked at the short man. "I sense you are already at the power level needed for knighthood. What further training could you need?"

 

Feylis looked at her former master.

"If he has taught himself, then he might need formal and proper training in the ways of the Sith."

 

OOC: I've waited well over 24 hours, so here it goes...

The lommite and durasteel containers were unloaded from the convey of supply ships and scanned for any foreign materials. Once cleared, the materials were sent off to the quartermaster's office for distribution to the shipyards at Kuat.

The convoy left Kuat, and continued on to the next pick-up. Once the ships had made their jump, an anomaly appeared at the far edge of the Kuat system. A small fleet, not much more than a detachment of a battle group, appeared and moved on a course directly for the shipyards. The small group consisted of two Star Destroyers, two lancer frigates, four correlian gunboats, a corvette, and two wings of X and A wings.

The Imperial Remnant fleet, assisted by the Chiss, began a policy of sweeping away any corruption of the neo-Imps in the region of the outer and mid rim beyond the Hydian Way.

One third of the New Republic defensive fleet travelled down the Hydian Way and Perlemian Trade Route, systematically eliminating any opposition within "The Slice" with the assistance of the CSA, who moved down the trade routes from the opposite direction.

The Mon Calamari extended their protection into the Cron Drift, while the Hutts and the Bothans asserted control over the Outer and Mid Rim up to the Correlian Run. The Hapans and Wookiees also began to impliment martial law over the Inner Rim and into the Colonies.

Another third of the defensive fleet moved around the far side of the Deep Core, sneaking up on the routes from behind. Fleet Groups moved into position to defend the hyperspace routes into the Deep Core and out into the galaxy, seperating Fondor and Corellia from their precious supply lanes and isolating the systems.

OOC: Whenever you're ready...

 

Kaylen sighed in exasperation. "You didn't answer my question! Is this world artificial? " Without pausing, he continued,"I have given my name, what are yours? Whatever they may be, the girl is correct. I know some things, and have some power, but other things elude me. For example, I cannot seem to generate Sith lightning. This is why I want training."

 

Feylis stepped forward.

"I am Master Feylis Tarok. And no, this world was naturally created. But we, the Sith, have made it and shaped it for our own purposes. That is why my former master said "Sith made". Also, yonder that stone door is the Sith City. Since I have newly attained my current rank, Master Brins might want to take you on instead of me. But if he does not wish it so, I will take you as my apprentice."

She rubbed her chin.

"You can't generate Sith lightning? Then perhaps you haven't learned how to channel your hatred and anger into your own purposes."

 

In hyperspace outside Corusaunt

"Sir, I believe Grand Admiral Patton will be pleased to hear that our mission was a sucess."
High Admiral Winston Chuchill (Pattons personal admiral), "Indeed, soon we will arrive at Corusant."

10 min. later in Corusaunt space

Dropping out of hyperspace came 3 ISD II's, 8 Lancer Frigates, and 16 various transports. Then came the surprise, 1 huge 23 km long by 9 km circumfernce Asteriod being propelled by hyperspace engines that were assembled on it by droids.

Winston, "Excellent, it came out with no problems, soon the glory of the Empire will be seen."

On Corusaunt

George read this on his holopad, "Perfect timing," George types a response to his admiral.

On Churchill's ship

SUBJECT: START OPERATION SILENT DEATH

Good job there Winston. Now I need you to have 3/4 of the driods to convert 1/4 of the asteriod to hanger space, another 1/4 to laboratorys, and 1/2 to a shipyard. Also have the remaining 1/4 of the driods to make Turbolaser batteries and Conccussion Missile Batteries on the surface, also have them make the crew quarters, command deck, and shield generators, also the engine room. All must be ready, soon.

OOC: Long_live_the_Rebels, technically an asteroid turned into a mobile shipyard is a superweapon because it give your side an unfair advantage. And in Children of the Jedi, they do have an asteroid superweapon.

 

Brins shook his head. "She means well young one. But what I, Master Brins Hamid, said was accurate enough. You see, this is a natural formed asteroid. But the Sith took it and suplanted it on this Force well in space. The Sith built a temple into the Asteroid and the Force brought more and more land to the asteroid. Soon the planet was at moon size, then it finally became a planet. Every year, every month, every hour, every minute, every second, this planet grows. Much anger has polluted the Force well, making it a high concentration of what most call the Dark Side. That is why the Sith settled here. Warrior refugees settled here also, I believe you know the Zabrak?"

 

Kaylen thought a moment. "I am sorry, Master Hamid, but I am not familiar with the Zabrak."

 

"They are the "natives" of this planet," Brins said with a chuckle. "I was raised among their warrior clans before their arrival here."

 

im just using it as a base of operations with little defenses, if you see my post, it says im building laboratorys on it, i plan to research some things, the ship yard thing is to produce fighters, the hanger = to hold them. Basically its just an asteriod base being used for starfighter construction and research, thats all.

 

"No Sith Lightning?" Moshu laughs. He raises his hand toward the sky, and sends a bolt of Sith Lightning through the air. "Like that, it's easy."

 

Kaylen glares at Moshu, then resumes looking at the masters before him, waiting for Brins to elaborate.

 

Brins not even concentrating very hard sends a very powerful flash of lightning at Moshu. "Or like this." Brins said as he returned his attention to Kaylen. "It is of no matter. You will meet them soon enough, as all of my apprentices learn the art of combat from the warriors."

 

Using his Darkside-enhanced Ewok dexterity, Moshu backflips, easily avoiding the lightning. "That's how you do it. I am a Sith Lightning specialist. It's my favorite thing to do!"
