    Naboo.
It was as beautiful as Obi-Wan Kenobi remembered it. Perhaps even more than he once did. After all, his last visit here had been under a very serious matter, which lead to the downfall of his Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn at the hand of Darth Maul.

Not that this wasn't a serious matter now. In fact it was deeply serious. His former Padawan had been reported missing from Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan, and Obi-Wan thought it best to visit the person that Anakin had been closest with the last time that he had seen him. That person was Senator Amidala of the Naboo.

At the head of the war, Anakin had been given the mission of escorting Senator Amidala home, after it was revealed of who was trying to kill her, and they had been defeated by Jedi Master Mace Windu. Anakin then had quickly asked permission of the council, without consenting his own master first, if he could have afew weeks of Vacation time on Naboo. The Senator had invited him to stay with her for some rest and relaxation.

Mace Windu, at the urging of Chancellor Palpatine, and the other Council Members, had given Anakin permission to stay on Naboo as the Senator's guest.

Obi-Wan had been sent on another mission before Anakin had returned, and he had missed Anakin getting permission by the Council to start his trials, and Anakin being declared a Knight afew short months later. Anakin then had returned to Naboo, again, before starting his mission to Alderaan. Obi-Wan was aware of the deep connection Anakin had always felt toward Padme Amidala, and now Obi-Wan feared greatly of how that had effected the young pair in his long absence from Anakin's life. Before the war began, Obi-Wan had also sensed that the Senator carried feelings toward Anakin as well. But the council had sent Anakin on that damned mission to Naboo before he could investigate Amidala's intentions farther toward the young man.

Now there was no telling how far that relationship had gone, and Obi-Wan was going to have to investigate every detail of it, as he sensed it had greatly to do with what was going on with Anakin now.

"I'm here to see Senator Amidala." Obi-Wan told a handmaiden, who had greeted him at the front gate and lead him inside the Island Retreat home.

The woman spoted another handmaiden and told her to get Lady Padme for the new guest.

Afew minutes later and Obi-Wan looked up toward the stair case while he waited in the front corridor of the grand house.

He smiled when he seen the young woman decent the stair case, but he quickly took notice of how she had changed in over the last year. She had lost alot of weight, and looked as nearly as old as he was. The war had been deeply wearing on her, and it made him all the more concern over what Anakin must be going through.

"Master Jedi," Padme Amidala greeted him with a warm smile, and a light kiss on his cheek. "It's good to see you again. Especially safe and sound."

She began walking toward the courtyard doors and lead him threw.

The backyard was a stunning view of flowers, waterfalls, and beautiful rays of sunlight.

In the far distance he could see a small form sitting in a thick green field of grass, laughing, and blowing bubbles in the air with a round shaped aid. She had a thick mop of dark hair and was dressed in a lovely ruffled dress that matched Padme's.

"There's some things you should know first, Master Jedi, before we begin."

Padme lead him to the child and she looked up at him with wide brown eyes that you could get lost in.

    "Hello there." Obi-Wan said.

Padme caught his gaze and she beamed proudly toward the child.

"This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, I told you about him," Padme said to the very young girl who was no more than a baby that could sit and walk. "Obi-Wan," Padme then began. "This is Leia, my daughter."

Not catching on to what she was trying to say, Obi-Wan grinned down at the baby girl, and spoke to her again.

"Good to meet you, young Leia."

He ruffled the top of her head and chuckled softly.

    "She's lovely, Senator

Padme gathered her little girl in her arms, and began walking back toward the House with Obi-Wan not far from her side. Tears were stinging her lovely brown eyes but she forced herself not to give in and cry. She had been through far too much in these last few months to give in now. She had been forced to give up far too much to give up now. Hearing him call her made her stop and hold Leia tightly against her chest. She had given up far too much than any mother should have to and she refused to give up anymore.

"There's something you're refusing to tell me, Padme." Obi-Wan chimed gentally, and placing a gentle hand on her shoulders. "Please tell me what it is. I feel that it's important that you do."

"No," Padme nearly hissed, suprising him. "You know all that you need to. My husband is not here hiding away from his responsibilities to your dear Jedi, Master Kenobi. In fact, he's not here at all, and has not been here for sometime. So now, please leave me and my daughter alone and in peace."

    "Padme..."

"No," Padme barked. "I've lost my husband due to your careless nature as a teacher, Master Kenobi. I refuse to lose my daughter to you as well, or my son." Padme gasped as the last cruel words escaped her mouth. She could not believe she had said them. She could not also believe she had given up the information there had been not only one child, but two.

"Obi-Wan, please forgive me." Padme pleaded, in tears now, as she gazed into the shocked and hurt eyes of the Jedi Knight. "I don't know what I'm saying anymore."

Leia started crying at seeing her mother's tears, and hugged tightly at her neck in effort to comfort her. Padme smiled as the little arms of her daughter slipped around her neck. Leia was not even two years old yet and she was comforting her.

"It was not my intent to come here to upset you, Senator." Obi-Wan began. "I came here only to seek out Anakin. Not his children. If you do not wish for my help with them then I will not offer it."

"Thank you." Padme gasped, choking back a sob.

"Goodbye to you then, Senator." Obi-Wan knodded curtly, before walking back toward the House, and exiting the yards. He should not have come here. He should have known that Anakin wouldn't be here.

As he exited toward the driveway, he stopped upon seeing Padme chase him down, the girl was no longer in her arms.

    "Padme?"

"I lied to you." Padme began. "I know what happened to Anakin."

Oh boy. What happens next? This story is too good to stop right there! I love it! Where's Leia? She wasn't with Padmé. And Padmé knows where Ani is? Tell Obi! Tell him! Must have Ani/Obi angst! Must not turn Ani to the Darkside! He can't become Vader! Please don't!

    Tatooine.
It was easily the most hotest place this side of the galaxy, but the Whitesun family still had decided to settle here all the way from the beautiful planet of Alderaan. Beru had been only a child of three, but she still clearly remembered her life there.

But if her father hadn't chosen to give up the land farm there to become Sand farmers here, Beru would never have met Owen Lars, and they wouldn't be married now.

They had married last year after the unexpected death of Owen's father. Beru's family didn't think their daughter should remain in such close company with Owen upon the death of the only other living family member of the Lars household. Beru had spent a lot of time there in the last few months with Owen, and they hadn't even been engaged.

Beru then told Owen that her parents wanted her to tell him goodbye, and then Owen had asked her what she wanted to do. Beru confessed that she loved him and had dreamed their relationship would lead to something more someday. Owen then had asked her on the spot to marry him. Beru had agreed without a second thought. They married the next week in a quiet ceremony on the Lars farm.

Beru had become pregnant soon after, and had given birth to the child early. She had been a baby girl, and they had called her Laurel Shmi Lars. Laurel had been a lovely baby but had been born far too soon. Weak from the birth at seven months along, Laurel had died in her mother's arms six nights later. Owen had been devestated and withdrew himself from Beru. It had been as if he blamed her for losing their young daughter.

It had gotten so bad that Beru decided she had enough and left Owen in the middle of the night to go home again to her parents. She had planned to file for divorce first thing in the morning. Owen had awakened early to find her gone and had gotten frightened that something had happened to her. Owen found her half way to her parents house and had begged her to forgive him.

Beru instantly forgiven him upon seeing how deeply Owen had been effected by her leaving him. He had truly loved her and only been angry that they lost their child. Not directly at her.

It was then afew weeks later they got a suprise visit from Padme Amidala in the middle of the night, and she had pleaded with them to take in someone even more suprising into their home. Her and Anakin Skywalker's son. Luke.

Beru smiled down at the sleeping toddler boy who often took to calling her momma, and Owen his papa. Owen would always correct him though and tell him to call them aunt and uncle.

In case that Padme decided to return for her son someday.

The son of Darth Vader would always be safe here until that day would come.

Padme lead Obi-Wan inside the house and into her study. Before chasing after the Jedi she'd given both twins into the care of her long time handmaiden, Norise, who was likely now feeding the twins a late lunch inside of the kitchen. Norise had been with her since her days as Queen Amidala, and was her most trusted friend and servant these days, and was a serious help with Luke and Leia. Especially without having Anakin around, Padme had come to count on Norise for her help, and kind care of the children.

    "I know where he is."

Obi-Wan regained his shock that Padme had lied to him, and forced himself to remain calm. If he blasted her now she'd likely tell him to go home. Then Anakin would be lost.

    "Where?"

Padme sat down at her desk, but he decided to remain standing. He was still far too upset to have a long conversation. It would be best to keep things brief.

"Anakin said he was going with Palpatine on a new campaign. Palpatine longs to unite the seperate parties against the rest of the Republic in a more solid means that will force the remaining Republic systems to fall in line with what he wants, by threatening the worlds with attacks from the Clone armies. Three systems have been destroyed in the last month alone. Millions have died and suffered for standing up to them."

"How do you know this?" Obi-Wan demanded. "Anakin would never turn against us like this. I won't believe it. I refuse."

"The planet of Datooine was the first attacked. All the cities were destroyed by Clone ships. There are only a handful left now of those people. They don't even think they can rebuild."

"I repeat the question, Senator," Obi-Wan snapped. "HOW?"

"I'm one of the leaders of the Rebellion that has been slowly rising these last few months," Padme began softly. "I've been traveling from System to system with afew others, trying to convince the people that this has lead us to war. That there is no other way anymore. We must stand against Palpatine."

"You're trying to over throw the elected leader of the Republic," Obi-Wan nearly gasped, not believing her still. "This will create a war, Senator. One I don't think we can win."

"So have you decided then, Obi-Wan?"

    "Decided what?"

"If you're on Anakin's side, or mine."

    ~~

In the darkest levels of a city that he once loved so much, he waited. Not because he was waiting for something. It was because his Master simpally told him to wait.

    Their time would be soon.

    "Lord Vader?"

The dark lord of the sith stopped his star gazing of the higher levels that you could see from below, and turned around.

    "Yes, my Master?"

    "Our time is now."

"I don't believe that it must come to that, Senator," Obi-Wan argued softly, after taking in her words. "Anakin may be lost right now, but-"

"It has long past come down to that, Obi-Wan," Padme barked. "Don't you think I haven't tried to convince him there are other ways to get things done? That enforcing an all out war on the galaxy will destroy everything that has stood for hundreds of thousands of years? That it will force my children to live in fear of their own father?"

    "Where is the other boy?"

    "What?" Padme gasped, stunned.

"You have three children, do you not?" Obi-Wan demanded. "I can feel you are keeping something hidden concerning them."

"No, I do only have twins, Obi-Wan." Padme admitted softly. "The boy that is here in my home is not my Luke. He is the son of my sister Renne' and her husband Teodan Xanor. They were killed three months ago in an attack in Hapen Space. That is where Teodan was from. They were visiting his family there."

"So you're using a child as a decoy for your son?" Obi-Wan stated, shocked.

Padme shoock her head. "I wish it were that simple. You see, Teodan was a Jedi Knight. That was why he and Renne' were murdered. I'm giving their son Luke's name in hopes they will not learn he wasn't on that ship with his parents."

    "What is his real name?'

    "Brenaan Teodan Xanor."

Obi-Wan gave a considered look toward the doors of the office. He was in deep thought over what Padme had pulled off without his help. Her son was away somewhere, while her sister's own Jedi child held his name here. It would work out for now, but sooner or later, it wouldn't.

The ones who had killed Teodan and Renne' Xanor would learn of their mistake, and come for young Brenaan. That would also place Padme and Leia in grave danger. Anakin's daughter would be in grave danger. That was something he could not allow to happen.

"Padme, tell me the truth," Obi-Wan started again, as she redirected the main subject yet again. "Where exactally is Anakin? I know if I can find him-"

"The last I heard he was on Coruscant." Padme admitted finally. "But you mustn't try and find him, Obi-Wan. He will not turn back! He's not the same man anymore."

"Do you still love him, Senator?" Obi-Wan demanded suddenly, his eyes on hers. "Because if you do, how can you not want me to find him and try to turn him back? Especially with your daughter in this House and your son in another on a far away planet?"

"How dare you ask me that!" Padme snapped coldly. "Of course I love him! He's my husband! I do want him back, but not like he is now. His will is no longer that of the man I fell in love with. He's cold and unfeeling. Anakin didn't even want to see me the last visit I took to see him. The Chancellor's guards wouldn't even let me inside the suite. -I'm his wife!" Padme finished in a bitter whisper.

"Then trust that I can bring him back." Obi-Wan declared. "But in case that I fail I feel we should take certain steps first-"

"What steps?" Padme asked softly and curiously.

"I think I should escort you and Leia someplace else until I assure Anakin has turned back!" Obi-Wan declared. "For your own safety, milady!"

    "What about Renne's son?"

"Leave him here with your aide." Obi-Wan ordered. "It will be much safer for him if you're not here pretending to be his mother, and him Anakin's son."

Padme only knodded her head and looked off into the distance of the outside window.

No one could see the tears in her eyes as the Knight slowly turned away and prepared his Ship for the journey ahead.

    Alderaan.
It was as lovely as she remembered it from her early days as Queen of Naboo when a younger Bail Organa had invited her here for her sixteenth birthday. It had been a wonderful visit. Bail had showed her his world and then had shocked her by declaring his feelings for her. He had said he knew she was still young but he loved her. And he would happily wait until she was older until she could decide how she felt about him. Then maybe something else would happen between them. But Padme had never fallen in love with him as he had hoped.

Padme thought him to be a perfect ideal of what she should have fallen in love with. He was handsome, warm, funny and kind. Also he was a good fine ruler to his people. A respectable and sweet man. But Padme had never fallen in love with him. She had tried but she held no attraction in her heart for him that was of the romantic nature.

They had the same upbringing. Both were born from high class families and raised in beautiful wealth. They were the perfect match for eachother. But she did not love him.

On her twenty-first birthday Bail had invited her back to Alderaan and had again declared his love for her. It was like a dream coming to life. The handsome Prince longing to marry his Princess. But the Princess did not love him still. It broke Padme's heart to tell him no. He had been such a dear friend. Her best friend at that. It had devestated him and he refused to ever see her in private again.

The last she had heard Bail had married a young poor teacher from the city of Alnaridin on Alderaan. She had a rare beauty and was a lovely and good person that he loved very much. She bore the title of Princess of Alderaan and would be declared Queen upon Bail's mother's death.

This would be a most difficult visit.

"Why didn't you tell me you were bringing us here?" Padme hissed in a whisper, as her young daughter napped in her arms. "I had the right to know!"

Obi-Wan looked over at her in the cockpit of his flyer from the pilot seat.

"I never considered this would trouble you so much." Obi-Wan said honestly.

"It's nothing." Padme said a bit harshly. "It's just that-I haven't seen Bail in some time."

"I had no idea that you knew him personally."

"I could have married him once." Padme whispered softly.

    "What was that?"

"Nothing." Padme replied quickly. "Nothing at all!"

They were then both quiet for rest of the journey down to the world from space.
