The kiss tasted like sweet nectar mixed with strawberries from the forest moon of Endor.

It was as if it was their first kiss. But then Anakin reminded himself that it wasn't far from their first kiss. He had only
kissed her twice before.

Once on Naboo, and the other was thought to have been a kiss to last them
forever. Once sweet final touch of lips before they were to die.

One sweet final touch in the wake of their
first declaration of love.

That was all it had intended to be.

Anakin knew that his loving Padme was against everything he had studied and trained years for.

He knew that it was against the Code of the Order itself.

He knew how disappointed Obi-Wan was going to be when
he learned what his apprentice had done.

But he had allowed himself to give into his feelings anyway. He couldn't help himself. It felt so good to be
loved again.

And Padme did love him.

He had sensed their connection even all those years ago. He had
dreamed about her for most of his life. Even long before he had lived on Tatooine.

Now every thought and feeling about her had come to this moment.

He had just taken Padme as his wife.

They joined hands and walked off to where they shared their first kiss.

The first moment that Padme had
known the truth about her love had happened here on this very spot.

It was something that Anakin felt he should make a point in remembering. He couldn't say why.

The beauty of the city surrounded them as they held each other, and waited for the crack of first light.

The dawn of a new day.
