The Day Task! It began "Daily", well... at least in planning. But anyways, for the first task, I'm gonna be easy on you all. So you can have 48 hours to do this. Man, I'm nice.

There's 12 things to answer, find, etc... enough for one per person. You get 10 points per correct responce, plus a bonus 50 if ALL 12 of you respond.

No one can answer more than 3.

I'll do that one. I'm a poet. I'm wondering though, if anyone knows, was the Cane Toad Crisis something that actually happened, or am I supposed to make it up? ?

EDIT: I get the idea that I'm supposed to make it up... But I'm going to come back in a few hours and someone correct me if that's not so. I'll write it then and still have it back before 48 hours are up, promise.

 

i believe the cane toad was a species of toad that was accidentally introduced to australia in recent years. they had no natural predators so the cane toad population rapidly grew out of control... at least that's what i think epic is referring to.

Jjanda_Solo - About the cane toad thing...

I know a lot about this pest as it was released in our small sugar cane community first in 1935. It was introduced to combat the sugar cane beetle which was eating a lot of the cane, but it quickly spread, eating lots more than the cane beetle. It is a real problem for native wildlife as it is venomous (like a lot of things in Australia!) so they can't eat it.

Cane toads are particularly hilarious if you spray them with Dettol or hit them with golf clubs.
