Okay, maybe I'm the only one a little overwhelmed by this, but whether we're overwhelmed by it or not, we need to organize. Here's what we have to do:

Today's DAY TASK should be fun. Big Brother is going shopping!

Your budget is 20 million dollars, and the net is your shopping mall.

    You MUST include:

    - 2 houses -- one family, one holiday home (8 million max)
    - 3 cars -- one sports, one family and one 4WD (2 million max)
    - a boat
    - a holiday
    - an Entertainment Package (TV, Stereo, DVD, etc)
    - Sofa
    - 3 Paintings (2 million max)
    - 26 CDs of your choice
    - A computer
    - $1000 worth of male clothing
    - $1000 worth of female clothing
    - A Star Wars toy or accessory worth more than $1000

... and anything else you want!

Like I said, your budget is 20 million dollars, US, but your eventual total must be EXACTLY 20 million dollars. If you're 10 cents over, you FAIL. So you better have those calculators ready!

If you complete the task, you win 500 points!

No one can spend more than 5 million personally. Also, for every person that doesn't contribute at least $500,000, you lose 50 group points.

    Have fun!

    -BB

So, um, any suggestions how to start on this?

First off, I think that two people should be designated to buy a house apiece and nothing else. That's 4 million a piece that they can buy a house for.

Then one person should buy all three cars. That would be 2 million.

That's 10 million taken care of.

Then have someone buy the rest of the items on the list.

Everyone else can buy whatever they want. Then we can add/delete items as needed.

    Any other suggestions?

Even if one person buys the most expensive car in production, they'll have a good amount left. It's only$363,990.

    2002 Rolls-Royce Corniche

So, let's divide up the required items, and take it from there.

We can always add, or delete items from our lists.

    This just added by epic:

    NOTE:

    - 48 hours to do the task.
    - From the list, the maximum one HM can buy is three seperate items. (26 CDs, $1000 male clothing is considered "one" item, etc)
    - The more creative you spend the money the better! Buying a holiday to Disneyland is fine, but if you can create an exotic holiday around the world (you have the money!), then BONUS points could be awarded for creativity.

    Thankyou.

wow, this task seems kind of overwhelming, but i think if we just take care of the things on the list first, it shouldn't be too hard to fill in the gaps with whatever we want.

I've found a boat for exactly 3,000,000 US Dollars.

    Here.

EDIT: The link doesn't work, so just copy & paste it in the box.

EDIT 2: And then do a search. "3,000,000", "US Dollars".

EDIT 3: Hello! It's me again. The boat is a "THREE MASTED SCHOONER 144".

i found a life size darth vader for 4,500

    http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MBP909898

(the = sign makes it so a link won't work so you have to cut and paste)

At Pallasart I found three expensive paintings:

    1) A Boyar Wedding Feast: 12,500

    2) Taking Of The Snow Fortress: 15,000

    3) St. Cecelia With Angels: 7,500

... Which equals $ 35,000. Not exactly two million, but maybe it's something; if nothing else, it's an indication.

that's cool Casper. if we're spending 3 mil. on the boat then we'll have to spend a little less on some of the other things.

Here is a holiday home for $ 2,500,000: Buck Lake, Drayton Valley.

    That's in Canadian Dollars.

    So in US Dollars, that's:

    $ 1,639,224.0517.

    //sigh

    Whatever.

    found at this site.

    I like this one:

    [image=http://realestate.escapeartist.com/data/properties/images/1868-1135-1R8SH2N78D.jpg]

    For only $ 4,800,000.

    Found here.

Alternatively, there's one for $ 4,150,000 here, one for $ 4,700,000 here, and one for $ 4,500,000 here.

But since I can't spend no more than $ 2,000,000 anymore (the boat was $ 3,000,000), someone else has to buy it. I think it works like that. Or I buy this house, and someone else the boat. We'll have to see.

Amazon.com has a CD BOX SET by Arne Nordheim for $ 166.98. That's "one" CD, officially; it's registered as one.

    So 166.98 X 26 = $ 4,341.480.

Hm. That's not going to work.

okay Casper, so if we get your house as our "family home" and mine as the holiday home that's 7.3 mil. spent on the two houses, not bad. i can buy the holiday home and the life size darth vader, which puts my total at $2,504,500, so i could still buy something else.

If we do use the things we have now, IF:

    $ 10,339,500.

Just an indication. (It's without the CDs)

EDIT: OK great, Tom. We'll use my family home and your holiday home.

That means someone else is going to buy the boat.

okay April if you're still there maybe you could buy the boat that Casper found, that's 3 mil., then you could look for the sofa or the clothing or something, you pick.

    I did find a sofa for $ 595 here.

It's by Philippe Starck, so very pricey.

And oh, if someone's going to go for the clothes: go Armani, Versace, Gucci, et cetera. That should raise the bill a bit.

I can't help right now, but I will be back a little later tonight. It's annoying how real life sometimes gets in the way, isn't it? :p

    Three expensive cars:

    1) Rolls-Royce Corniche $ 363,990 (family) (Here)

    2) Lamborghini Murcielago $ 273,000 (sports) (Here)

    3) Brabus M-V12 $ 215,871 (4WD) (Here)

... Which brings the total to $ 11,192,956.

These are just indications, folks. If anyone can top these prices, or has better suggestions -- great. I'm just calculating a bit, nothing is definitive.

I'm only buying the house and the paintings, anyway. Who wants to buy the cars?

yeah it's good to get as many of the items listed here as we can, that way we know about where we stand and how much more we have to spend.

plus it makes it easier for those who don't have quite as much time on their hands :D
