Ummmkay. So, uh. Hi there. *waves timidly* I'm basically a lurker but I do so enjoy making fan art, so I figured I might as well post it here. Constructive criticism is definitely appreciated, but be kind, please. ;D This is really all I have so far, but me being me, you'll definitely see more in the future.

I make lots of fanart. So, uh, this thread will probably get very image heavy. Dialup users, beware.

Hey DC, and welcome to Fan Art!

I like the sort of geometric graphics you've used on the layouts/headers--it's something I don't see much and it's just appealing! I also like the more muted colors you've chosen for them--again, something different and unique. Of the ones you've posted, I think I like the "Solo Brat Pack" the most: just the application of that term to them gives me a smile! Nice icons as well--though in the last one, it feels a bit awkward with the top half of Tahiri's head missing... The Wookiee one is great! Nice start to your gallery--and if you're concerned with "overloading" those of us who are still saddled with dial-up, you can always post links rather than images! ;) Just a suggestion! Again--welcome!

    Welcome to FanArt DC!

I really like the color schemes you chose for characters- they seem to go together nicely,
and like how some of them are kind of pixelated, makes for a different look then some of the other wallpapers around here!- good job- and I hope to see more cool stuff from you soon!

You've got some great composition going there! I really like them all. Good use of images and colour schemes. They all blend together so well. Keep it up!

Hehe, thank you! I'm not entirely sure who came up with the name "Solo Brat Pack" (or if I'd just heard it applied to myself and my brother one-too-many-times...) but it just popped into my head as I was making it. Technically, that icon was supposed to be an Anakin one, but now that you mention it, it does look a little odd with Tahiri's head cut off like that. ;D

And thanks for the welcome, too!

Yay, thank you for the welcome! Pixelated? Not quite sure what you're talking about, there. If you mean all squared off, then I do that a lot. Lately I've been making all my stuff very boxy and not as blendy. (If that even makes sense!)

    Thank you!

So after slaving away on PSP all day (wheee that rhymed!) I finally managed to make a wallpaper. I'd like to say here and now that I really think Alema is the coolest character ever. I had to make a wallpaper of her. Yes.

Another nice w/p DC--I love the colors in this one. The geometric arrangement is good, but seems a bit heavy on the right--perhaps another image of Alema there--or perhaps enlarging the smaller frame in the lower left...? Also--you may want to look into ways to separate the image you wish to use from the others in the coverart: the lower half of Lando's face, and the shoulder of the X-wing pilot (was that Jaina there...?) detract from your central focus here. I do like the sort of "compartmentalized" technique you're using--it's quite different, and adds a lot of interest. Keep up the good work (and if you like Alema, you may want to avoid the Dark Nest trilogy novels...)!

Alema Rar wallpaper! =D I <3 Alema Rar! Well, before she gets all deformed and evily and buggy!

Anyway, I like what I see! Keep up the good work. I wish they'd put some of those icons into the board options.

Thank you! Since it's a wallpaper, I've lately liked having a big empty space somewhere to put in my icons, there's only one picture there. The small picture was one of the icons that are above, so it couldn't really be enlarged, but thanks for the advice. I shall certainly take it into consideration.

And I've read the DN trilogy. *wails* Poor Alema.

Yay, another Alema fan! *hugs* And thank you! <3!

Anyway, so I added a header that I made for the J/Z index. I slaved over it for days, and I really like the outcome, for the most part. (Unfortunately, we're rather short on Zekk pictures...) Anyway. Please tell me what you think, suggestions, etc, are appreciated muchly!

Love the new headings! The Jacen one is my favorite, but it says "Janen" on it? The Anakin & Tahiri one is another fave. You do a great job with the composition.

Thanks to both of you! The Solo children one was a lot of fun to make. ;D

Also, it says "Janen" because it's a Jacen/Nen Yim header. Jacen + Nen Yim = Janen.

Hey! Your art is amazing! The layouts especially were absolutely gorgeous. I love the muted colours you use, they blend really well, and it's something different and unique. Loved the Alema wallpaper! The right side was a bit image-heavy, but I like the geometric arangement you've got going there. Again, something very different. I fell for the Solo one as well. The Solo "brat pack" [face_laugh] The colours and composition were very good. What programs do you use? You're really talented so please keep posting!

*blush* Thank you! Also, on the Alema wallpaper: I like my wallpapers to have a nice bit of empty space to stick all the icons in, so it's a bit heavy on the right. ;D I used Paint Shop Pro 9 and Photoshop CS2, though mostly PSP. ;D

    Thank you!

I've been on a bit of block for things to make -- but I'm itching to think of something, I just can't think of what. If anyone has any ideas for me, just say so! ;D

Back in December, I entered icons100 and managed to complete 100 icons of Leia. Some aren't that good as they were rushed to meet the deadline (and whoulda thunkit, I missed the deadline anyway ;P). And there's one new one of Leia. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

spacecraft, there's a link under 'Icons.' It's a text link, so it's maybe easy to miss.

Well, so I'm working on a vexel of Padme. It WAS almost done, but then my computer crashed and GOODBYE VEXEL. *sigh* It was really good, too. So now I've got school and fic and no time to work on it -- I might post the progression as I go on, and I plan on really working on it this weekend, but in the meantime, wallpaper! (Three guesses who it is. ;D)

    [image=http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/8950/crim2nf7.jpg]

I just slapped something together really quickly. YEAH. But it did turn out kinda pretty at the end, so all is well. :p

So, here we have the infamous Padme vexel:

Well, so it's not done yet, but I did manage to finish the forehead -- onto the nose, I think.

It's not that great (I've gotten pretty rusty at vexelling) and it's only 28 layers, so the whole thing doesn't flow as well as it did the first time around. But hopefully it'll get better. :/

    Shown at 50%, because A) it's huge at 100, and B) you can't see where I messed up on 50. [face_shhh]

Hey DC--this is actually looking quite good so far (and I'm a complete doof at anything techy, in terms of art, so I wouldn't know what, if anything, you "messed up!"): the shading and tones look very natural to me, and the shaping of the forehead surface seems correct so far. This is going to be very pretty, I think, when you get it done! And thanks for sharing your WIP--it's always fun to see how artists go about their work!
