DDP's XL1

    Just to let you guys know, I bought an XL1 today, so Dangerous Derk Productions films will look so much better!! We can't wait to film another movie!! :D

    His expression with the camera reminds me of the part in Finding Nemo where the shark sniffs some fish blood and says, "I'm having fish tonight!!!!"

    Easy there brother... Just back away from the camera... Easy now... No one wants to get hurt... That's it.... Thaaaaats it..

    Hey Predinator, I got mine off www.mandy.com in the end. eBay was mostly con men, i got loads (about 20) emails from scams. BE CAREFUL!!

    No the windshield doesn't come as standard, it cost the guy £70 according to the receipt too. :)

    I also got the canon filter set & 5 batteries too.

    I have two I think, with a CH-910 on top of a MA-200 off the rear of the camera, the standard battery and the five hour. Still have the stock mic, lens and EVF, though I hope to change that.

    Is it just mine, or is the standard 16x incapable of focusing within four feet?

    personally i HATE the standard "2 minutes of power" batteries all companies package with cameras. You're paying enough for the camera for crying out loud - at least include a decent battery that probably costs a couple of pounds/dollors to produce at most!

    anyway,

    Mine seems ok, but you have to manually focus it. Normally i keep my finger on the auto button, then release it when it has focused in, but it takes a while with close subjects.
