Yeah, I heard the studio is really happy with it and have greenlit the sequel. I also hear that Ryan Reynolds will be working on trying to an X-Force flick in production which I imagine Deadpool would be part of. However, not sure which iteration of X-Force it would be or if Deadpool would be part of the team or a foe.


Anyway, this movie is going to suck. #Give the rights back to Marvel!!!

Looks like this will be the best-reviewed comic book movie until the Mandrake The Magician adaptation finally opens later this year.

83% RT is a big score for Reynolds.

 

Hilarious movie. Go and see it. I was constantly smiling, giggling and belly laughing and several times laughing so hard I missed parts of the movie. I hope it does gangbusters at the Box Office. Bravo to the studio for finally greenlighting it, but most of the thanks has to go to Ryan Reynolds and the two writers, who absolutely knew how to pull this movie off. It's clearly a lower budget effort than most superhero movies, but that's ok. This character gets by on his charm. And there's quite a lot of it.

 

The only thing potentially keeping it from outperforming at the box office this weekend is Valentine's Day. Or maybe that helps? I've been married for a quarter century, and no longer know how Valentine's Day is supposed to work.

 

I doubt it, the big romance of the weekend opened last week. Last year the big weekend was due to 50 Shades, not really that it was v-day. The only movie I see having a potential big pull is Zoolander and being that it's a sequel, it won't pull as much as Deadpool.

 

How to Be Single is opening today right. 50% RT? But that kind of thing might be relatively critic-proof for VD.

 

Ooo. Forgot about that one. Still that'll draw the girls while their bf's head over to Deadpool.

 

that's just the kind of movie date that my wife and I like to go on, although we usually do separate movies AND separate nights.

 

Did she at least see TFA?

 

Deadpool will be my date movie with my wife. We're seeing on IMax tomorrow night. I'm so looking forward to this film. I just hope all the hype and positive feedback doesn't make my expectation so high that the film ends up disappointing me.

I really hope Deadpool does awesomely well in its box office run and opens the door for a R-Rated X-Force film.

 

Probably seeing this on Tuesday. It's about damn time Ryan Reynolds has a hit.
