Challenge Dear Diary (a 2007 challenge) Come on in and vote!

The Dear Diary 2007 challenge is something that I just came up with, and well, it seemed like a good idea to me.

There really wouldn't be very many rules and regulations here, but it would go through the entire year of '07. The premise is to write diary entries from the point of view of one character, preferably an OC. You don't have to write every day, although you could write as often as you want. A minimum of two (maybe one a month) would be okay. We all know about DRL and how unsympathetic he (or she) can be toward our muses.

Sure, your POV character should be an OC, but you can use as many canon characters as you want in the supporting cast. Any era is acceptable, and your lead character can be anything you can think of from a great Jedi Master to the Republic's most ordinary citzen. Perhaps a ruthless bounty hunter or a beautiful dancer, or anything in between. Like I said whatever you dream up.

You can make as many different diaries as you want, so long as each character has their own. I personally wouldn't do more than one, but that's me knowing better

Maybe if this goes well enough, we can have an entry of the month. I'll be having my own character diary, but for fairness sake I wouldn't allow myself to be eligible.

This sounds like a wonderful idea. Now I just have to figure out which of my OCs to use! Would you put an index of them in this thread or is this more of a suggestion, a challenge to see who could actually keep it up?

It's sort of the latter, but I do intend on making an index and once a week letting everyone know who's updated.

 

Oh, I'm definitely interested, this sounds like a lot of fun - and it will be a great opportunity to work on and flesh out my OC's some more!

I'm debating on whether or not to use an OC I have already or create a new OC. I'm leaning toward using Moff Malix or the Jedi Temple lunch-lady. If I chose the latter, it would be my first attempt at humor in a fanfic; I'm not sure if I want to subject the board to that.

 

Hmmm...this is deffinetely an interesting idea I might try this.

 

I have two questions.

1. I know that this will be during a year for us, but should it be during a year for the OC?s as well?
2. Can this be a an AU or does it have to be canon?
3. Is it okay for our OC?s to be related to any canon characters, for example like if they are Obi-Wan?s OC son or something?

I just have to make this clear.

If we can use this challenge as a complement to something we've already written, then I've got the perfect OC, and the perfect situation for her to write about. (Six months of second-hand angst, what perfect diary material ).
