I know it's way too late to enter, but I'm going to try it anyway, just for fun.

I like writing this way because you really get to explore the feelings of your main character. I also like the updating process. Makes me think, reread, reword and post. I usually write all up front and know the end before the end of the year. That makes the updating process easier for me.

Last year I attempted one diary in all three eras and each did a slow and painful death.

This year I have shrunk to two and hope that at least one of them makes it to the end if not both of them.

Each year I just hope not to start another - and fail.
What I am hoping for now is that Conversion won't be as long as TRIDU - though I already know I'll fail there again. :_|
I am probably just a hopeless case.

Other than that I hope to finally turn this ragtag group into a community, get some love for my work here or at least make you feel so guilty that you feel obliged to post comments in my stories.:p
No, it would be really nice to get some community feeling here.[face_batting]

Chance is tehr'll be the first wave of drop-outs soon.
After singing up full of enthusiasm, some of it wears off quickly. Happens every year...

Thankfully my muse sparked tonight and I updated the diary. But other diary is less than successful. :(

So, what do you guys do when your muse gets stuck?

Is it only me or do you sometimes feel the need to write from another's POV (another character in the story, I mean)?

    Cei:

I feel like you could switch POVs if you weren't writing in first person i.e. you could write from your main character's POV by saying "she" "her" and then it wouldn't be so strange to shift. Personally, I would find it harder to keep the flow going after switching to and from -- what might work is to write the scene from another's perspective and that could let you see how the main character would react to the situation and then for the official post go back to the original character. :)

    [face_thinking]

Two interesting options to get the what next juices flowing is to write a scene with just dialogue or no dialogue. There's nothing more stimulating than all snarky or all mushy dialogue. :)

Or to write a spinoff one shot about the scene and of course do it from the other person's POV and use that to jump back into the diary past that stuck point. :)

How about having the character talk with the character who's POV you want to write from?

Right now, my aspiration is to catch up on my updating and return to my schedule.

After that, I just want to stay on schedule and do all the mini-challenges.

I am stuck with an old diray because I need a five-day subplot with C'baoth without changing the TTT too much.
    I hate C'baoth.:_|

At least, I slept enough for a change, so my muse might be coopertaive. If I'm lucky.

This is often what I do. Most of my writing is done exclusively from the third-person limited perspective, so often times I find that if a scene isn't working simply trying to write it from another character's perspective does wonders.

Heeeeey, guess who finally got some writing done? :p Yeah, work swallowed me whole for a while there, but rumour has it that shouldn't happen again for a long time.

My goal is to somehow manage to finish this at all. Even in spite of my work schedule, which should be substantially less insane now that my last show wrapped. :)

Is it too late to join? If neccisary I could write four posts before the end of the month to get caught up.[face_praying]
