Try "tweaking" your resume to segway your talents into another industry?
How about looking into a company that you'd just like to work for & seeing if they have an employment section? You say 'home entertainment' -- have you tried local cable companies, catalogue companies etc. Sorry if the suggestions are lame or things you've tried before, but it's all I can think of right now.

    Dear No Medical
I wish I could help on this one, but careers are not my specialty. I do know some people to send resumes to at Sony if you are interested.
Finding a job takes time. Hang in there.

    Dear Skyryder,

I'll take those Sony names if you don't mind. I need them! Should've majored in finance like DB says, but no, not me. I wanted to have a 'fun' career. I wanted to play with DVDs and CDs. Ha!

    Hanging in there,
    JN

    Dear Skyryder,

I'M SO SORRY! You were right! I'm a fool! I beg you to give me advice again! Please! If you're so inclined, I was curious as to how to get vacation a better chance of being approved.

    Your friend,
    Apologetically Exhausted

Hey JB! Kaiser Permanente offers full Medical for receptionists and other such odd jobs. And you only have to work 20 hours a week. You don't need to have that much experience, I think.

    Dear Exhausted,
The best way to get that vacation approved is to bribe the approver. Tell him/her that you will bring them something nice back from where ever you are going.

Actually, just be a good worker and if you are deserving of the vacation you should get it.

    Dear Skyryder...

I regretably watched 10 minutes of American Idol Last night, to see what the hoopla was about. Does that make me officially gay now? I did not change the channel and even tried to vote. (but did not get through)

    Signed,

    Confused/Worried

P.S. After, I watched the History of Heavy Metal on VH1

    Dear Lost
Sony uses an business head hunter agency for its accounting departments. We have plenty of financial departments Studio, TV, Motion Picture, Marketing just to name a few. I dont' know if there are openings but you would probably have to go through the agency first. I will try to find out that company name for you.

    Dear Angry
Just the thought of you wanting to put their privates anywhere is a sure sign that you are indeed gay. The only cure for the gayness is to watch straight porn, drink lots of beer, and pass gas.

Watching American Idol will only make you more gay. I don't even watch that stuff.

    Dear Skyryder,

I am growing less and less tolerant of stupid people. I don't know why but people annoy me. Is this a sign of age or is it time for me to gather up my meager belongings and head out to the Jundland Wastes where I will live out the rest of my life as a crazy hermit(ess)?

    Dear Voice
When was your last time away from stupid people? It may be time to take some time for yourself. Just to relax so that things like this won't bother you. There will always be stupid people but hiding yourself from the world is not the answer.

    Dear Skyrider,
Where I work we have a main phone line (which I answer -- & that's 40-60 calls per day)and each of us has a direct line as well.

Almost every day, in addition to an average of other personal phone calls & visits from her grown offspring, my coworker gets a personal phone call on the main line. These can be from creditors, offspring, her homebound husband, doctor's office. In addition I even get calls asking for her husband (by name). Apparently he has given our office phone number as his phone number because he does not pick up the phone. (My coworker says that getting to the phone is too troublesome for him since he is handicapped. She has never really explained why he can't have an extension within easy reach at home.) My coworker is an enabler to her family. They're pretty much users. How do I avoid my enabling my coworker and her dysfunctional family in turn?

Ummm, you just have to tell her I guess. Up front and honest is the best way to solve a problem.

My friend, lets call him "rider of the skies" left a bottle of Tequilla, and a bottle of Kahlua at my house. How do I tell him he is a dork, and rides the short bus? How do I tell him to grab the stuff, before it goes down the drain.

    Signed,

    sadly sober

p.s. still have rasberry pucker, gin, and chocolate liquor.
p.p.s. still have a bottle I bought for JediBith... ahhmmm...

Already tried that method -- repeatedly. It didn't work. So, I took Tuesday off, because I knew it would be a really inconvenient day for me not to be there. Well, cross my fingers & toes -- not one Personal Phone call on the main line all day & I don't even think she's had any on her own line. Maybe someone else told her I was right when I wasn't around or maybe it's just a coincidence.
